1 hp Commerical Grinder,November 20, 2009
By Trailingivy
"After shopping extensively for a quality grinder I purchased Cabela's Commerical 1hp meat grinder on line. Relatives in the family have owned similiar machines and everyone spoke highly of their experience with Cabela's products and customer service. Without a doubt this equipment is first class and it processes the meat as intended and expected. I couldn't be more pleased with equipment, quality and internet communication with Cabela's. Everything was delivered on time and we have processed three deer so far. I plan on ordering additional tools.

THIS IS A GREAT MINCER 1 HP MODEL LOTS OF BRUTE POWER. THIS IS A PRO MODEL MINCER , SAUSAGE ATTACHMENTS WORK VERY WELL ALSO NOT A CHEAP UNIT , ITS QUALITY , THANKS CABELA ' S."

Super Grinder,November 18, 2009
By Michbentarrow
"The 1hp grinder is actually awesome. I recently processed 25# of venison to make jerky and the unit is fantastic. I can't feed it as fast as it will create ground venison. No stalling, no hesitation, no over-heating it just gets it done Larry."

Imperfect engineering,November 18, 2009
By Ruger300Magfrom NW Wyoming
"I used the 1 hp grinder over 2 weeks where we did 2 elk and 3 deer. The unit worked fine at first however the issue centered on the gears heating up with light work at about 10 minutes. The cool down was usually an hour. I tried to grind cold meat for 15 minutes and the auger heated up to the point steam was coming out of inlet throat. I also had issue with the coarse thread of the auger - it would allow the stomper to actually fit between the auger spirals causing it to chip the stomper and bind the machine. Often on the second grind with the coarse plate, the holes would plug up and would require multiple cleanings to do 25 pounds of cold meat. After the unit heated up, the gear box started leaking clear grease. At first I thought these issues were with the operater (me) but other experienced users had the same issues with that machine. The stuffing tubes worked great but had the same issues with the stomper catching on the auger. I have access to a 1/2 hp unit and it did not have these issues - we often grind and regrind meat for 20 plus minutes at a time and it does not heat up nor the stomper catch. The colder the meat the better it operates."

1 HP Grinder,November 5, 2009
By RapotrsRedfrom Pittsburgh, PA
"Purchased this grinder for the upcoming deer season to process our own deer.
VERY impressed with this grinder. To start with, we ground 20lbs of beef for jerky and beef sticks. Thank goodness we had all of the meat cut, as the first grinding went very quickly.
We decided to make sausage and ground/packaged 50lbs in no time at all. Stuffing the casings took some practice, but all came out great!
Cleanup was very easy. All parts cleaned up with hot soapy water.
Now we can't wait to process a deer."

1 Hp Meat Grinder,November 2, 2009
By IaDeerHntrfrom Iowa boy
"I have been butchering and packaging my own deer meat for several years now. This year my wife bought me a new Cabelas 1 Hp. Meat Grinder for my birthday that ended in a 0! I have used hand grinders and smaller grinders in the past. The Cabelas meat grinder made the job so much easier and more simple that I am once again in the stand trying to get some more. Clean up was a snap and it ground the meat into nice burger with very little effort. I would reccomend it to anyone."

The meat equivalent of a tree chipper,October 27, 2009
By mooseterminatorfrom Nome, Alaska
"This machine is awesome. I can toss fist-sized pieces of meat in the unit and watch it be spit out the grating. No more having to cut up the meat into tiny chunks to prevent a lesser horsepower motor from stalling. I ground two hundred pounds of moose burger in a flash. I regret waiting so long to purchase a grinder of this capability."

Elk hunter,October 26, 2009
By RollinDirtyfrom Kemmerer, WY
"I just bought the 1/2 hp grinder this fall, shot two elk and finished grinding up about 60 pounds of hanburger and making 30 pounds of sausage with the stuffer. The grinder is about as fast as you can stuff it in and although the stuffer is a bit slow, it's nice with only having 2 sets of hands. With all that meat I didn't have to stop and clean the sinew out once, the only problems I had was with clean up and the picture instructions don't match the step by step instructions."

Excellent Product,October 26, 2009
By kevstfrom Indiana
"Purchased 3/4 hp grinder. Processed one deer so far and very impressed with the speed. Was going to get the 1hp however, after reading reviews decided 3/4hp was plenty (and it was). Only issue is trying to grind the meat a second time for sausage. Second grind is slow unless meat is very cold, but that is to be expected."

Review 13 for Cabela's Commercial-Grade Electric Grinders
"We have only had this grinder for about a week and a half and have grinded close to 200 lbs game. This grinder dose the excellent job!. The sausage stuffing attachments work great as well. Easy assembly, disassembly for cleaning and good instructions. I am glad I spent the extra money on the 1 horse and would recommend nothing smaller for making sausage and grinding game. One thing I did notice is that the grinding shaft dose heat up on the bearing end at times if you are grinding or stuffing casings or for an extended amount of time. This was remedied by making sure the shaft was well lubricated with the food grade silicon. Over all Cablea’s did a great job with fast shipping and another great product!. You will not be dissapointed with this product"

"I have been butchering my own meat for many years. In the last ten years I've butchered 4 moose, many deer, a cow and couple pigs. I only regret not purchasing the 1hp grinder sooner! What used to take several hours now takes minutes. It is easy to clean and couldn't be happier."

1 hp grinder,October 25, 2009
By BlueeyedDevilfrom So. Md.
"I purchased the 1 hp grinder and used it the other day to grind up the deer I shot during the black powder season. After deboning the meat, it took ten minutes to grind up the meat. We cubed the meat in 2-3 inch pieces and couldn't feed the hopper fast enough. This is an excellent machine. The average deer hunter doesn't need to get anything larger unless he is doing this commercially for a living. Great product!!!!! Easy clean up!!"

Cabela's 1 1/2 HP GRINDER,October 23, 2009
By MauiDavefrom David from Wailuku, Maui, Hawaii
"Talk about a grinder!! I got the 1 1/2 HP unit shipped to me in Maui, Hawaii. (I have to say that shipping was a disaster. The first unit arrived damaged. Cabela's sent another one immediately. The second unit arrived damaged so Cabela's shipped a third. The third arrived intact and UPS picked up the first two on the same trip.) None of this was Cabela's fault. They provided fantastic customer service. And speaking of the grinder. This grinder is a work of art. I love this thing! There's no stopping it except I can't even feed it as fast as it grinds. I can't say anything bad about the grinder...it's just fantastic!! The quality and workmanship are fantastic. It is a beautiful piece of equipment. I would recommend this grinder to anyone. If you're serious about quality and don't want to waste time buying grinders that don't perform go ahead and spend the money on this grinder. It rocks! Aloha from Maui"

1 HP Grinder,October 18, 2009
By DCKLR69
"I used the grinder for the first time today, set up was simple and we could not cut up meat fast enough to feed this thing, we ground up an entire deer is just a few minutes, the safety shield is a pain to have on when you are trying to feed meat in but if you remove it be advised the meat pusher can get stuck in the screw as I found out, lucky for me this grinder has a reverse. This is a heavy duty piece of equipment and I would highly recommend it."

cabelas electric grinder,October 18, 2009
By electricgrinder
"I've had this grinder for two years now and have been having problems with it. I purchased the 1 hp electric grinder and at first it worked to perfection. Now the two screws that hold the fan shroud on broke and the shroud vibrated in and now hits the plastic fan. The large set screw that holds the grinding neck tight stripped out. Other than that no matter what you put in it, it comes out as hambuger. Have been happy with it up till now. It hasen't been abused. It sits in my butcher shop until I need it. Check around maby there is a better one out there. Don't know if I would have gotten this one if I had it to do all over again."

1/2 hp Grinder,October 17, 2009
By MadHunter82from Casper, WY
"Great product!!! Wasn't sure if the 1/2 hp would be enough, but my wife and I could hardly keep up. Super quiet, grinds beautifully. (make sure you read the instructions, the colder the meat the easier it grinds) Clean-up was a breeze. Worth every penny. Thanks for the great product!"
