poor design,
July 14, 2009
By Timothyac
from Portland, Or.
|
"The ladder was built strong enough but doesn't work on boats. Most boats taper from the side down to the "v" and the ladder will not work because when you stand on the ladder to get out of the water it leans in to the boat creating such an angle that the ladder just comes off. The ladder would work great if your boat was square ( which they don't make) or if the kicker legs were about two feet long. I'm going to make one to fit my boat out of 1"emt conduit for less than $50.00 which I paid for your ladder."

boat ladder too flexible,
May 28, 2009
By Lish
from Central U.S.
|
"I had temporarily borrowed a boat ladder with wooden steps which performed satisfactorily. The new Cabela's ladder has plastic steps which flex when used. I am 140 pounds and the flexing is somewhat disconcerting. My husband weighs closer to 200 pounds and the ladder is too flexible for him to use comfortably."

By Lighthouse54
from Canon City, Co

"I thought I needed this, but was a waste of money. If you need to climb back in the boat, you can climb in using the motor. This is just more junk laying in the splash pan. Also, You only get the 2 steps. No rope."

ladder fix,
May 30, 2007
By lakelover
|
"I have been looking for an extension to my pontoon boat ladder. Due to a knee injury I suffered last year, I needed just a couple of more ladder rungs below the current ladder to help me get in and out of the boat. This is perfect! Just what I needed. Extremely strong and even the grandchildren like using it."

By teamroper

"My familly and enjoyed the Garelick Boat Ladder this summer boating. It is strong and durable does not scratch the boat, does not slip, easy to store in the boat, and makes easy for the people getting out of the water with the ladders non slip steps."

Latter for Pontoon Boat,
November 22, 2006
By Dingo
from Beaver Arkansas
|
"Installation of the latter was a piece of cake and it works great for my kids! It makes getting in and out of the boat a snap and quickly gets out of the way when you are ready to pack up and leave. It could use another rung - but other than that - it passes the test."
