Afraid to make my own jerky,

"I had been wanting to try making my own jerky at home for the longest time. When I discovered the jerky racks and tray set and the Hi Mountain products, I really felt like this is something made easy...guess what? I IS EASY.....everyone one of my friends enjoyed the jerky...looks like they have been hanging around a lot more, lol. Cabela's got it together. Quality and price. Thanks Cabela's"

"i thought these trayts would make my jerky making easier and it did and it didnt. first the trays are very difficult to keep stacked, second, they were to big to fit into my oven, but they did help after i got them to sstay up and figured a way to deep the oven how i wanted"

"I ordered the 2 extra trays along with the 3 tier. I had a large amount to dry and not one spot hit the oven. I used foil to line the drip pan and it was even easier to clean up.
The one caution would be that using all 5 trays, you might only get the top tray done 1st. I would remove it and let it cool, then check in about an hour and take the next top tray off. That would be repeated. Next time I will only do the 3 tray at one time. Possibly all trays would be done at the same time.
What I absolutely loved about it was that it was very easy. I read several recipes and many of them spoke to hanging the meat with toothpicks. What a mess in an oven. This was great."

Don't stack well,

"They are not really designed for stacking. Not happy with the way they fit when stacked. When you try to pick up the unit as 3 trays it just collapses. Why do the legs need hinges? It's a drying-cooking thing. I was going to buy the Cabella's 80l dehydryator due to good feedback, but now not sure"

"The trays are large enough for four lbs. of sliced roast, but the trays are virtually unstackable. The poor design allows the trays to slip off one another very, very, easily I'm really disappointed in the product, Iv'e got to "redo" the design to make it workable..............."

"This is a fantastic item. It works very well. However there is a stacking problem with the trays as noted in your previous customer's reviews. I was able to fix the problem by bending the wires on the corners of each tray. It took about fifteen minutes. The person who recommended this item to me did not have a stacking problem. He purchased this item about a year before me. Maybe there's a "new hire" at the manufacturer :)"

"I took the racks out of the box for the 1st time and 2 of the 3 racks had broken welds on the brackets that hold the rotating wire legs in place. I know Cabelas return policy but when your ready to use them you improvise a little high temp RTV did the trick. Other than that they worked very well but for that reason I can not recommend this product."

"THE 3 TIERS & TRAY WORK GREAT. I WAS ABLE TO MAKE 5LBS OF SNACK STICK AT ONE TIME. THE ONLY THING I FOUND WRONG WITH IT, WAS THE RACKS COULD STACK A LITTLE BETTER ON TOP OF EACH OTHER."

"the problems i had was they didnt stack very well.i ended up taking wire cutters to the inside corners so they would hold in there a little better.also it wont fit in my oven the long way so i trimmed off the sides a little bit so i could slide it in sideways.spray the racks w/cooking spray for easy clean up."

"Great item at a very good price. I also purchased the xtra racks and now I am able to dry approx. 7 1/2 lbs. of jerky at one time. Having a stove that has a dehydrater setting also helps.
Would I buy this product again? In a heart beat. The racks are sturdy and the tray has no problem supporting 5 racks. Cleaning is also easy. Pop the tray and the racks in your dishwasher.

"The jerky tray did work well. It's good to be able to put so much in at one time! The only thing is that the legs could lock into the lower racks a little better. However, they were sturdy enough I never worried they would fall. Good product."
