"Built tough, have not had a person fall on them yet, but with two labs in the boat and a two year old running around and hitting everything the rod holders hold up to them running over them and bouncing over. Holds up great to snags pulling the rod back. Won't bend or break and holds up to tough conditions and puts your rod up over the side so you can troll four rods out of the boat with one rod way out to the side and easy to grab the rod as it is high off the floor. You can grab it while you are standing up in the boat you do not have to be sitting by the rod. I run an Alumacrat Navagator 175 and the starboard side of the boat you have to mount the rod holders by the rod locker on the floor and the rod holders are far down, but with these it sets the rods up high and you ca really see them. Would recommend for anyone who has trouble getting that rod out far to the side or has trouble getting the rods out of the holders because you have to have the holders at such a great angle you can lay the outside rods flat out of the boat."

"I ordered these and ended up sending them back only because I decided I didn't need them after all on my bowrider fish/ski setup. However, I did get to test fit them and they are really well made and would work perfectly if you need a taller mount. The pictures online don't do them justice they are super sturdy and you would never break them until subjected to serious abuse. They are made by Scotty and should work with all Scotty rod holders that use the standard mounting base."

"I bought the quick-draw rod holders (IJ-018235) which work well but some rod handles are too long and hit the boat when you pull back. The extension keeps that from happening; I just wish they came in 3" instead of 6". They are unaffected and handle the stress of trolling with dipsy divers. When finished they put away easy and leave a clean lock with flush-mounts."

"These rod holder extentions hold my rods securely in place and seem to be as strong as the holder itself. They take the pressure of a moderate size fish pulling on them without distortion. They both get my rods stationed higher for easier pickup and also allow for my rods to be more angled than they were with just the rod holder in two places in my boat."
