The sleeping bag has a rugged canvas outer shell, removable flannel sheets for easy washing, a full-length No. 10 YKK® zipper and DuPont Quallofil® insulation for a comfort rating to -10°. Use the canvas bed roll flat as a barrier against damp ground, or place the sleeping bag inside for additional protection to -25°. Attachment toggles at the corners of the sleeping bag keep it anchored securely inside the bed roll. An extended canvas hood on the bed roll completely surrounds the sleeping bag when the two are rolled up together, to protect the sleeping bag on the long ride into camp. Side-release buckles on the bag and bed roll keep them rolled up tightly separately or together.

"Went elk hunting this season (09). Stayed warm at 24 degrees. However, I am 5'10" and would have liked the longer bag that is available. I used the liner to seal the cold air from entering through the zipper. The toggles need some reengineering. All in all, I slept well and was warm."

"I was looking for a new bag that could be an all season item. We spend time in the gold country in the summer, desert in the fall for hunting chuckar and Arizona in the winter for the last of the quail season and this bag seems to fit the bill. The canvas cover keeps the dirt and dog hair off the bag, you can open the bag for just a flannel cover when it's hot and I really like the tie in liner for washing. I read on other reviews about getting a larger bag than you think you will need and did so. It gives you space to move around in the bag and spread your legs out. I really like this bag....bob"

"I wanted to take some time to write a review of this bag system because I am that impressed with it. My bag has been used for three or four seasons now during our Wyoming elk hunts.
I originally purchased this bag after waking up in my mummy bag one season with a layer of frost on me! The wall tent we were using coupled with my mummy bag allowed the bag to accumulate moisture on top of the bag. That was a mess! The bag wouldn't get dried out before I needed to use it again. Fortunately for me I had an extra bag with and I would use the wet bag as a top layer to keep my inner bag dry.
I found my Outfitter Sleep System while shopping a Cabela's outlet that was closing to merge with the main store next door! What a bargain!!! I bought this new bag while grinning from ear to ear in anticipation of the uses that it would see. This bag has never disappointed! No more frost on my bag when I wake up! This years elk hunt was particularly cold, windy and just plain uncomfortable. The only times that I was warm was when I was hiking the mountain or when I was in my outfitter sleep system! I will continue to recommend this sleep system to anyone willing to listen as a hands down best sleep alternative for serious outdoorsmen and women! I couple this bag a good sleeping pad (found on the upper level of most Cabela's that I've been in) and a good cot for a wonderfully comfortable nights sleep.
Three last words on this sleep system.....just do it!"

"I ordered this sleep system for my 10 year old son... The sleeping bag... is of good quality but lighter than I expected for a -10 rating. I like the zippers & soft flannel lining. The canvas shell is a OK light weight cotton-canvas. The sheets I can live without. The mummy hood is a bit small to be truly functional. Additionally, I recommed the large versus the regular size bag if you intend to use if for any adult. The regular size is a good fit for a child/youth or very small woman. I do like, however, the bedroll/sleeping bag cover... It is user friendly, sturdy, roomy enough for a sleep pad, and adds extra protection and needed insullation/warmth to the bag. This systems is not meant for those who pack on foot (too heavy)... but can be accomodated if packing by horse/mule... IF you don't mind the additional weight and bulk. For the money... if you are serious, outdoor and/or cold weather camper/hunter and are looking for a very warm and comfortable sleeping bag... take a look at the Browing Excelsior -30 bag (also offered by Cabelas). Less the price... better the bag."

"I purchased the Outfitter Sleep System right before I went on a 10-day elk hunting trip. The setup of the bag and liner is excellent, it worked even better than I thought it would. I was in a wall tent with a stove, and at times the stove had been in use and the tent was warm at bedtime. The bag layer system allowed me to go to sleep in a warm tent, and pull up more layers as it got colder when the stove went out. The sleeping bag with the canvas liner pulled up was plenty warm, even in sub-freezing weather. In the morning I pulled up the canvas liner over the bag and my pillow, and the bag was protected enough that I could use the cot it was as an extra piece of tent furniture. I got some dirt on it, but the canvas just allowed me to brush it off with no problem. I really like the way the entire system rolled up tightly with excellent tie straps. The entire system rolls up into a bundle that is surprisingly small for what is in it. I highly recommend the sleep system to anyone who wants a versatile sleeping bag that can be used at any temperature."
