"Ultrathon is a long lasting, rather pleasant smelling repellant. I apply it everywhere I can reach before heading into the Florida swamps, and it does a good job at keeping the ticks and mosquitoes at bay. It's only drawbaback is that it is a little expensive, but a little dab goes a long way, and it is a small price to pay to protect myself from Lyme disease, and West Nile virus."

"i have ticks, jiggers, everything you can have in the woods i hunt in. I used this stuff one time while setting my stand for fall bow. and i have no signs of anything. no ticks no bites i didnt even have flys buzzing my head. great stuff for the woods but i dont know about durring the hunt it does have an odor"

"This stuff really worked for me. I had forgotten to apply any repellent before I left my truck for a hike into a remote lake. As soon as I started to set up my camp next to the lake the "skeeters" were in heavy dining mode. I removed the "Ultrathon" from pack, rubbed a small amount on the exposed skin and they immediately left me alone. I don't know how it affects ticks and such but it worked great with the High Cascade skeeters."

"This stuff is amazing, and I have proof of my claim. Here is my story:
My wife and I went hiking at one of our local state parks, to try out our new packs and to condition ourselves for our trip to Ontario, which would occur two weeks later.
We started walking in the woods, with our full pack on, and we were not 300 feet from the trailhead, when my wife looked at me and my arms and neck was literally covered with mosquitoes... (I now have the welts to prove it.) We decided to go back to the trail head, (out from the woods) and put this stuff on (lotion.) When we walked back to "the ambush" spot, the mosquitos were all over the place, though none landed on me or my wife. Night and day difference.
We walked throughout the woods for a couple of hours, and never once were we bothered by the "vampires." I was "a little" skeptical when I first purchased this product, and I had a couple of other 100% DEET products for reserve, but after this experience, I returned the "stand-bys," as this stuff is all I need in my pack.
Honestly, this is hands down the best product that I have experienced; if you are deciding to go anywhere where their might be these flying pests, you need this stuff, you will throw all other repellants out after you expereince this!"

"We recently took a trip to South Africa on Safari. We were instructed to use insect repellent with at least 30% deet. We found 100% deet products, and then finally found this product. We never once were bitten by a mosquito or any other bug. As you may know, the mosquitos in South Africa most often carry malaria. We were very happy wtih the product and felt that it protected us quite effectively. I searched many sporting good stores prior to going to Cabelas and we could not find this product! Thank you Cabelas!"

"I run and during summer months here in the new york area the deer flies almost make running not possible if any one has ever been attacked by deer flies en mass they will know what i mean the 3M Ultrathon Insect Repellent works. Watch out about putting too much on. You become human fly paper and it is not easy to get off"

"My boyfriend bought this product because he has tried a lot of products to keep ticks from attaching them to his body with no sucess ! He is an outdoor sportsman & spends a lot of time near the woods. He bought this product but it has proved to no more effective than any other product that he has tried. He has seen many ticks They will attach to him & bite him He says that he will probably have to put up with the irritation of tick bites because he can't find a product that works ! Thanks"
