Not in love with it,

"I have to disagree with most of these reviews. This call has great sound, inside the house. Outside it is very quiet after a short distance. After trying to locate a gobbler with it a few times and not getting results I video taped from 30 yards away me using this call. With my HD camera with $200 external mic this call sounds like a whistle from far away. I tried a few times with it as did my step dad (an accomplished turkey hunter) and the same whistle sound kept coming out. I would not recommend this call."

"I have tried a number of calls over the years and this is by far the easiest and most realistic owl call I have tried. The air chambers make it easy to adjust the tone of the call to find which will make the gobblers respond. It is so easy, my 13 year old daughter uses it to call in owls off our back deck for bird watching!"

"This call works great! It is simple to use and to adjust the tone. You can make it sound high or low. I get all the gobblers to shock gobble without the trill at the end. It has enough volume for what is needed. If you are trying to locate far gobblers, you shouldn't use an owl hooter anyways. This is a great call and well worth the money."

Decent tonal quality but lacks in volume...,

"The HS Strut Owl Hooter Call is great on tonal quality. You can reach down to some of the lower owl pitches and climb up to the higher ones as well. However it is near impossible to maintain a good hoot and add a natural trill on the tail end of a hoot. Also, in order to get a decent volume out of the call you really have to over-blow the call cutting down on the sound quality resulting in lost realism. It's light weight and durable but bulkier than Knight&Hales hooter calls. The HS Strut Owl Hooter makes a great toy for the kids to play around with to get them fired up about turkey hunting but won't do much to fire up the gobblers."
