"Need to keep my dome covered on the river. Never liked hats much. This one covers my head and shades my ears and face. Stays on great. Stiff enough to hold form in an upstream wind. On rainy days sheds the water instead of running down my back."

"I have never been a fan of the boonie style cap in the past, thinking them a bit sloppy and the brim too narrow to protect from the Arizona sun. Even so, a half dozen adult leaders of our Boy Socut Troop (me included) purchased this boonie prior to summer camp this year, primarily because it comes in our troop flagship color of yellow and the gore-tex name. While scout camp is known for varied weather, this year pushed the limits. Rain, hot sun, 80 degree days and 42 degree nights... the boonie protected and stayed on through it all. Now the other adult leaders are placing their orders to get theirs before next year!
I recommend this hat to anyone wanting a full brim protection for the ears, a way to keep their head dry and warm during rain and cold, and yet cool in the direct sun. This cap does it all."

"Not a bad product for the price, but I would've rather spent the extra money and received a nicer Gore-Tex Hat. You can't tighten the draw string, which I wanted, but a decent hat if you want to stow it away in a fishing vest (very clothe like hat so will fit nicely) in case an unexpected rain storm passes."

"Overall its a decent hat. The gore-tex does a good job of keeping your head dry. Don't plan on wearing this hat when its above 60 degrees out. It will make your head sweat. The leather chin strap is worthless. Cut it off and get a spring loaded drawstring holder."
