"This sling is so new I don't know if I should be reviewing it yet. It is very easy to use and comfortable for carrying my rifle. It's only downside is that it is a little stiff, but I am am sure the will change as I use it more. I will be buying another one for my new X-bolt."

"Excellent product. Leather is very high quality and tapered (thicker at the front ring where the loop is formed than at the back ring where it only attaches) for wear and lighter weight. I have always used 'MRT' military style slings, for durability and value. This sling is a very nice upgrade for a mountain rifle where lighter weight is a consideration, and will last atleast as long. The adjustment works exactly as advertised, it 'opens' with one hand, throw the gun over a pack-ladden shoulder or thick jacket, and it snugs right up again with one hand. Extremely handy. It was priced the same as in my local shop, but Cabela's had my prefered size."

"I could never find a comfortable easy to adjust leather sling until the Montana Sling came along. I own several of them. Its unique design allows for easy adjustment for carry or shooting. One could spend more on a sling, but this one works and is easy on the budget.
After I took my sling to the deer camp and showed it to my hunting buddies, many of them went out and bought Montana Slings for themselves. They are all satisfied too.

"I bought this sling for my CZ 550 American. I had already checked it out in the store before buying it online as there is a Cabela's nearby. I thought I would write this review to emphasis the excellent quality of this sling to anyone who doesn't have the luxury of being able to check it out before buying.
The leather is high quality, the stitching is high quality and the design is very effective. The uncle mike's swivels are sewn into the sling so you will not be removing them from the sling, but who cares unless you break one or something. If that actually happened, which would probably be unlikely, I would expect either Uncle Mikes or Montana Slings to fix it.
I don't have much else to say, but after examining and buying this sling I'm very happy. It works exactly like you expect it to and the innovative knot stays where you put it, just like a prussick knot would for you rock climbers and mountaineers out there.
I will qualify this review by adding that I just got this sling a week ago, I haven't used it in the field for an antelope season or anything, but I'm happy with it so far. If it turns out to let me down in anyway I will revise this review."

"It's a great sling. I ordered it to replace a nylon sling and was looking for something that wouldn't slip too easily on my shoulder. The sling is tanned and smooth on both sides and since I've not used it in the field yet, I don't really know that it won't slip. Actually I was hoping the leather was rough on the underside but the sling is of such high quality, it would be difficult to fault it. I expect it will slip some but not nearly as bad as the nylon one it's replacing. It's made of a single piece of thick leather with no buckles or rivets. The leather is spliced at one end in a way that allows it to slide up and down for length adjustments. The other end is stitched and except for the swivels, there is no hardware associated with the strap. It's a great concept that prevents the gun from getting unecessarily scratched and prevents any contact noise(s) when hunting. The leather is thick and will take a few outings before it's broken-in. I purchased the black leather model and am quite pleased with the appearance of the contrasting (untanned) edges of the strap.
Only time will tell if the buckle-less adjustments hold up once the leather softens up but as it stands today, this is an excellent gun sling that I would recommend to others."

"Made from one countinuious peice of leather, without brakes or added sections. Used it at the end of deer season, on my 30.06 in the rain just to brake it in. I purchased the black 1 1/4" strap and am very impressed with ease of adjustment, no stretch, and no metal or rivets. I am going to purchase another one. THERE ARE NO METAL RIVETS!"

"I bought this sling because it did not appear to have any metal rivets, as most slings do. The metal rivets on my previous sling had marred the finish on the stock of my rifle. In fact this sling does have a brass rivet. The picture of the sling on this web site does not show a brass rivet which the sling has, directly below the white stitched "M." The sling does appear to be good quality. Aside from the brass rivet, I am satisfied with it. On one side of the sling, the rivet is recessed below flush with the surface of the leather, so hopefully it will not scratch the rifle."

"I recently purchased my second Montana sling. The first was a brown 1" and the second a black 1 1/4". I am extreemly pleased with the quality and function of the slings. I only gave 4 stars to the black sling because the sides of the leather are unfininshed and brown so you have a black and brown sling. I used a black permanent marker on the brown sides of the sling to make it more aesthetically pleasing on my black gun."

"Simple, elegant design. The Montana sling installs quickly, adjusts easily, holds the adjustment, and looks good. It does take practice to adjust the sling, especially tightening the sling. I have both the 1" and the 1-1/4" variants; I can't tell much difference between the two. Both remain comfortable all day, and both are flexible enough."
