"Hands down the most accurate and consistent air rifle I've come across. Crosman premier hollow points work flawlessly in this rifle. The velocity on mine is lower than advertised but the effect on target with proper shot placement makes up for it. Hunting for crows on down from 40 yards and under should not be a problem. I get consistent bulls eyes from 30 yards."

"My Benjamin air gun broke so I decided to get something else the Benjamin is nice but not as nice as the CFX. The first thing that I did when I got It was put a BSA 2x7 air gun scope on it and took the scope rings that where on the scope that came with it and put those on the BSA. The rings do have a back stop in side so you have to take the rings off too screw down the back stop. Then I bought some gamo .177 match I know that they aren’t the best but the CFX doesn’t seem to mind them. FINALLY! To the range, most of my groups at 20yds are under an inch and I get about four inch groups at 60yds. One thing you should know is that you HAVE to hold the CFX right in front of the trigger guard or else you won’t get great accuracy. Over all I Love the CFX. Now get out there and snipe some rodents."

"The Gamo CFX is a sweet shooter after a few sight adjustments I have 10 rounds in a dime size circle at 20 yards. The fixed barrel makes a huge accuracy difference over the cocking barrel. The only downfall with this package is the scope is junk. So I will be replacing the scope with something better.
I give the gun 5 stars and the scope 1 star"

"Great Gun and made very well but very difficult to load! I own several Gamo airguns and shoot 50 to 60 yard fixed targets. The gun is very heavy and accurate. I feel this gun is perfect for target shooting due to its fixed barrel and weight. For hunting, I would stick with my Gamo Whisper, which is also very accurate, lighter and much easyer to load."

"Mounted the scope and 6 shots later had the gun sighted in. Shot a rabbit at 15 yards and the pellet hit exactly where I aimed. All I can say is he won't be returning to eat my shrubs. I would highly recommend this air rifle. I give the gun a 5 and the scope a 3. Very powerful and I like the large selection of pellets available."

"Heavy gun, fast and accurate-with fixed sights (I never put the scope on). The reason for only 3 stars: the loading mechanism was so tight it tore the skin on my finger and thumb after the 3rd shot. I then lubed the heck out of it and used pliers to work the mechanism back and forth. Still no luck. I also learned this gun is loud! This is going back to Cabelas only because the loading problem.
Note for those shopping: I spent 3 hours reviewing ALL posted reviews on Cabelas for air rifles. This model had the best overall review for operation. After personal review, my summary is that air rifles are not the quality one should get for the price one pays."

"I recently purchased a higher end break barrel pellet gun and found it to be highly inaccurate while using a scope. I was so unimpressed with this I talked to the product specialist's at Cabela's and after listening to their thoughts I decided to try the Gamo CFX. I installed the scope, dialed it right in and was shooting 1/2" groups @ 50 yards and all was well. I've been using PBA pellets, and have been very impressed so far with this fixed barrel pellet gun."

"I just purchased this air rifle, so as time goes by we'll see how well it works. As for initial impressions, it seems to be very well made. I like the idea of a fixed barrel, because it greatly reduces the possibility of the alignment changing between the barrel and the scope, making accuracy potentially just a little bit better. I also like the fiber optic open sights. They are extremely bright and easy to see. If I ever have trouble with the scope, they will make a great backup. The scope also seems decent for the price of the gun. The one thing I'm less than thrilled about is that it's louder than my Mendoza RM622. That being said, overall it seems to be a very well made airgun. If anything changes, I'll post another review saying so."

"I purchased this rifle from our local cabelas. I am glad I bit the bullet and spent the extra money. I had bought a beeman and a Summit before and brought both back because after a few hundred rounds they would begin to not shoot straight and the summit was a chinese piece of junk with remington stamped on it. Nothing more frustrating than a rifle that will not shoot well. The CFX rifle hits right where you put the crosshairs, though I would recommend buying a better scope. The Gamo scope does not do this rifle justice and the iron sights leave something to be desired but with an upgraded scope you have a gun that you will be happy with."

"It's too cold out yet to shoot outside so I shoot indoors. At40 feet it puts all the pellets in the same hole. it also cuts round holes In the paper target,so I know it's fast. Can't wait to get outside!!"

"Gave Gamo a second chance. Bought the hunter pro from the bargain cave, returned it a few days later because it was driving me crazy, just couldn't get the gun sighted in. I then purchased the CFX, this gun shoots dead on at 30 yards. I like the tru glow sights and had the same results with accuracy at 30 yds. I think this gun is a winner. The only thing I have a problem with is loading the ammo, it proves to be a little tricky. All in all, love the gun."

"Right out the box the Gun looked great, started out shooting through the iron sights which are pretty good when sighted in.(mine was shooting low) I guess the scope is okay..but like everyone says..if i were to do it again i would have just bought the regular one without the scope and just bought the scope i wanted in the first place.
The gun is shooting great, less than a 1000 shots and i'm already thinking about getting a tune for it as well as the new trigger just to improve the gun further. I've got two confirmed kills on a couple birds,plus a few good shoots where i think they still went down.
Hmmm also in my opinion this gun likes medium - lightweight pellets. for 8.5 being my heaviest pellet ,5.9 being my lightest..7.9's in the middle ;) no more pegions, crows, rabbits, anything!. I've put two shots on a penny @ 18 yards, one went through!!! (raptor alloy)
NOT A TOY!!!"

"The Gamo CFX is well worth the money. I also own a AA TX200, For the money spent the CFX shoots as well in the field and on the hunting trips in the scrub to bust ground squirels. The stock while plain, never needs any special care or protection. It does not scratch. You don't have to worry about it outdoors. The rifle is accurate and even if you choose not to use the Gamo 4X scope, you'll find that the illuminated "iron sights" are not bad at all . Only when you shoot long range do they hinder your shots. But up to fifty yards they are actually effective and fun to use. It shoots an honest 1000 fps + with Crosman 7.9 gr Premier pellets through my Crony. My TX is tighter on paper, but only marginally. This is due to the quality of the TX trigger. Invest in a $ 25.00 trigger kit for the CFX. This is the best value I know of in a field air rifle. It is accurate, sturdy and dent and scratch proof. The fact that it is easier to cock than many others of similar power is a plus too."

"unreal accuracy, throw away the scope as soon as you open the box! buy beeman rings, and a good air rifle scope, and this will be the funnest gun you own. I use mine for sparrow control around my martin houses. As you know, sparrows at 40 yds make for a very small target. Not a problem for the cfx!!!!!!! try the polymer tip pellets, expensive, but I am amazed by the accuracy."

"This is a good pellet gun for the money. I was very impressed at how solid the feel of the cocking mech is. Also impressed with the accuracy of the fixed barrel. Accuracy with my bushnell .22 3-9x40 mounted is awesome. The open sights leave something to be desired. The rear sight wobbles L to R (maybe 1mm), and I couldn't get the set knob to index at higher positions. I guess bottom line is, if you plan to put a good scope on this gun, buy it."
