"Get this product if you like to clean your guns on something that cleaning oils could/will damage. For instance, I clean my guns on a finely finished wood table, this mat keeps any substance from leaking through. Plus, the mat is washing machine safe. So, when it gets dirty you just put it in the washer. Perfect product. It's also a great mat for cleaning guitars on. This is the second one I bought! Actions speak louder than words. 5 Stars"

"I have been using Cabela's Cleaning Mat’s for years and have had no problem with them until recently. They must have changed manufacturers and the mats are now “junk”. The last one I purchase 7/2009 lasted about a day before is started “fuzzing’ up. The material was then getting caught on my guns and creating a mess. I tossed it on the second day!!"

"The mat is very absorbent and solvent-proof, but it is covered with a fuzzy kind of felt, like a wool sweater. The felt gets all over the place, tangled in your brushes, on gun parts, etc."

"Rubber backing doesn't work. Oil and liquids were all over my table. Fabric frays. This is the only product I have bought from Cabela's that I have been unhappy with. Save some money and use a throw away rag. It will work better."
