7mm 154 grn interbond,
September 22, 2009
By bratley
|
"I just used this bullet to take a 350 class 6x6 bull elk in southern Utah. I shot the bull in the shoulder at 60 yards, he only went 40 yards after that. This bullet is very accuate from my gun. it was producing 1/2" groups at 100 yrds. I was loading it with Reloader25 tp 3050 fps. The bullet expanded to .625 and didn't come apart. I would recommend this bullet to anyone, I trusted it to my trophy hunt and I wasn't disappointed."

Hog Hunt,
April 25, 2009
By moonzapa
from Combine, TX
|
"I hunted wild hogs in Februrary 2009 in Texas and was pleased with the performance of the 154 gr. Hornady SP using a Weatherby ultra-light chambered in 280 Rem. Our guide insisted that we not use plastic-tip bullets. I have been able to handload 1" MOA performance when shooting 3-shot groups at 100 yards using this bullet. (I use a maximum load of RL-22, and WLR primers). I anchored 1 hog at about 100 yards and the other at about 40 yards. The first hog dropped like a bolt of lightning hit it; after dressing it we found the bullet had penetrated all the way through the hog on the diagonal through the chest. There was an excessve amount of tissue damage that caused me to throw away half of the carcass. This was no fault of the bullet, only the results of snap shooting. The other hog I hit in the head. I have the utmost confidence when loading these bullets. Most highly recommended for 7mm .284 fans needing a good elk, black bear, or hog bullet."

Hornady 139 gr 7mm Boattail Interlock Bullet,
March 24, 2009
By Atlantageorge
from Atlanta, GA
|
"I have had a great deal of success with this bullet in both my 7mm Rem. Mag and my .280 Remington rifles. I am one of those handloaders that tries to get benchrest accuracy out of my hunting rifles.
This Hornady bullet helps me achieve this goal. I worked up a load for my .280, in which it will shoot a ragged one hole group at 100 yards for three shots.
I took my 7mm mag on an antelope hunt this past October. Using a load with this bullet, I downed my speed goat at 366 yards. Having the confidence in the quality of this bullet, allows me to attempt these long shots.
Besides being accurate, once it gets to the critter, it does the job of anchoring it. I am very pleased with the overal performance and accuracy of this bullet.

Hornady Ballist Tip bullets,
August 5, 2008
By 338WM
from Western MI
|
"I have not used these bullets on game yet but they have shot very well thru my Remington Mountai rifle. Max loads of IMR 4831 from the Hornady Reloading Manuel using Remington cases and Winchester large rifle primers grouped the best. I'll be trying them on Dall sheep so we'll see have they work on game. Hopefully as well as they did on paper."

Accurate,

By CmoreHunts

"The SST is a very accurate bullet, it always seems that bigger caliber, the less accurate. I have had very good groups with the SST. At 100 yds, two holes were touching and the third less half an inch. Also min. meat damage. This is a very good deer round."

7mm 154 Interbond,
January 17, 2007
By BJ32
from Dornsife, PA
|
"Used the 154 interbond this year in my .284 win. Shot a 9-point white-tail facing me. Great expansion at impact. Found the bullet in the groin. Bullet had retained 88% of its original weight and expanded 3x it's dia. Used the 139 SST in the past seasons and had good results but recommend spending the extra money for the interbond."
