Customer Reviews for Hornady .270-Caliber, .277" Diameter Rifle Bullets
"The 130 grain bullets are one of the optimal weights for the 270 Winchester cartridge. Though a little light for really big game, I recently loaded some for my co-worker. His wife, who is quite small, used it to take a Moose this fall. The Hornady SST performed flawlessly and dropped the Cow Moose (permit draw) with one shot in her tracks. I've used Hornady SST bullets on Bears, Caribou and Moose, with outstanding results. All were single shot kills, with massive internal disruption of the chest cavity. I've only recovered one round and that was after it passed through both shoulder bones of a bull caribou. The bullet lodged in the hide on the far side and retained about 90 percent of its weight. That was at 80 yards with a Smith and Wesson 460 loaded with the Hornady 200 grain SST. I always recommend them to my friends and fellow hunters."

Very accurate,November 18, 2009

"Similar to the accuracy I get from Hornady 100gr SP .243 bullets I have used for years my first reloads with this bullet from a Winchester Model 70 put all shots in a 1" circle at 100 yds. I haven't hunted with them yet but I'm sure they will perform without fail."

same hole group,October 26, 2009
By DADENfrom Boise Idaho , hunted almost all of my 63 years.
"after reloading my 270 shells I went to the rifle range . I had turned the elevation knob in error so I didn't know where the rifle would shoot. At 100 yards my first shot went high about 10 inches. After adjusting my second shot went 4 inches low and 1 inch right . After the third adj. 1 inch right . after adj. of 1 inch to the left the 4th and 5th shots where in same oblong hole center spot of target. My rifle is a sav. accu trigger 270 with a CP 4x16 scope . I haven't had a chance at a deer or elk yet to test the bullet expansion but with my confidence in the way my gun bullet combo shoots I'm sure all will workout well . 130 grain sp bullet. Good luck and Good hunting."

"These bullets are the best. I have hunted them in various calibers and they never disappoint. In my years of reloading I have never found a defect in a Hornady bullet. These SST's have excellent penetration and expansion."

130 grain .277 Bullets,February 18, 2009
By model595from PA
"This bullet has given outstanding accuracy and performance in all the 270s I loaded it in. In my model 700 1/2" MOA groups are common. The bullets provides a good balance of expansion and penetration at all ranges from 0-500 yards on medium-sized big game."

Accurate and positive on game,October 22, 2008
By chris1105from Tacoma, WA
"I purchased 130gr SST's for my 270 Win. These bullets are very accurate (.5 inch/100yds) with 57grs of IMR4831. I just recently got a chance to use them on game. A large black tail buck at 250 yds. The bullet entered the ribs and never exited. The deer only moved about 25 yds. That was all it took. Very pleased with this bullet for deer and targets. I would be cautious of bullet weight to be matched to animal size with this bullet. I don't think I would have been nearly as happy had this been an elk and a shoulder shot."

Hornady SST,August 27, 2008
By uthunter06from Idaho
"I haven't had a chance to use the 130 grain .270 Win Hornady SST bullets on game as yet. However on the range I fired less than 1 inch 5 shot groups consistantly with them as I developed the hunting load for my rifle. I am very happy with them as I have been for may years with all Hornady products."

Hornady interlock 130 Gr. inter lock,270 win.,September 22, 2007
By RLTPafrom Quakertown Pa.
"Have taken at least 21 Pa. Bucks @ to many does to remember with this bullet @ never had one go any further than 25yrds after being hit.Super accurate,.750 m.o.a. with RL22 58 GR. Best bullet by far for the price for this type of game.Have to admit have used Swift A Frames on carabou resulting in almost instant kills, but at more than three times the cost per bullet! One good thing i discoverd is that the Hornady & Swift A Frame have for all practical purposes the same point of impact which makes sighting in a little easier on the wallet. But if push came to shove i would have no problem using the Hornady on this size animal."

Hornady bullets 270 cal, 110 gr., 130 IB, 150 SST,April 24, 2007
By axiomaticfrom Mountain Ranch, CA
"My family has been using Hornady bullets for years in several calibers. I don't recall anything but one shot kills. I am still in the process of working up loads for the 270 WSM. So I haven't used these particular bullets yet. In the past I have shot many deer with the 6mm Rem. 100 grn. btsp. All were one shot kills and the bullets broke shoulder bones, stayed together, and landed under the hide on the off side. My experience with Hornady bullets have been remarkable. The new bullets appear to be extremely well made, accurate and very consistent. You'll never go wrong with Hornady Bullets."

Review 18 for Hornady .270-Caliber, .277" Diameter Rifle Bullets
"These are excellent bullets. I have purchased the SST, Interbond, and spire point with interlock ring. I have not yet shot them all, but they were recommend to me be several friends. They are cheaper than Nosler and from my 270 WSM they have also been more accurate than Nosler bullet!!"
