"I have been a reloader of pistal and rifle ammunition for 30 plus years and a Coyote hunter for as long. I have found the Hornady V Max 55 grain in the .223 caliber to have the acurcy and the one shot energy delivering stopping power nesesary for a tuff Coyote."

coyote killer,

By yotey

"I use the 55 grain v-max in my mini-14 on coyotes and have had nothing but one shot kills, with decent shot placement. small enterance hole and massive exit is the norm. On the range my post 580 mini will shoot around 2" at 100 yards using my v-max hand loads with 26 grains of blc2. this is the only bullet I use on yoteys anymore."

Priarie poodles hate this bullet,

By BuckshoTBarloW
from denver, co
|
"Gun: CZ 527 varminter - 223 Load: 24Gr tac, CCI SRP, COL 2.200
The BC of this tip is almost the same as the 52Gr amax. I was running amax's before they dried up, so i switched to the vmax. Devastating effects out to 250 yds, good effects at 300yd. I now load this in my 22-250 behind 35gr of varget, F210M.
100yd groups are at .4" with the 223 300yd groups are 1" with the Savage BVSS 22-250.
Explosive tip, don't use if you want to save pelts on other varmint cong. Use if you want to dispatch your enemy in a misty way. Can't recommend HDY vmax's enough in this bullet weight."

Hornady V Max Rifle Bullets,
August 20, 2009
By mikbix
from Colby, Ks.
|
"As with every Hornady product I've ever used, these bullets are absolutely amazing. I load them in .223 Remington, 22.250 and 243 Winchester. All are very accurate with Hodgen Varget, H322, H335 or Benchmark. Although this is politically incorrect, the 55 grain V-Max coming out of one of my 22-250 rifles makes a 300 yard prarie dog look like an airbourne chamois!!!! Cabela's prices are also very competitive to other reloading retailers."

"I shoot V-MAX bullets in four different calibers. I am very happy with the way they perform and have never had a bad experience with not being able to make them shoot accurately at reasonably high velocities. They are very explosive and you don't have to worry about ricocheting like some of the solid base bullets. I highly recommend these to any varmint shooters, predator hunters, or target shooters."

55 Grain V Max,
July 4, 2009
By Amancalledwho
from TN
|
"These V MAX Bullets from Hornady are the best varmint bullets I have used. They are accurate and deadly. I use a Bushmaster AR-M4 for coyote hunting and these bullets will consistently produce a five shot, .289 group at a hundred yards. Coyotes drop in their tracks when struck with one of these varmint slayers."

Great quality,
May 27, 2009
By TheBigDeerHunter

|
"I bought V-Max bullets in 204 cal and in my opinion they are the best bullets out there for this caliber. All Hornady bullets are good quality and accurate too. their quality is second to none and accuracy only slightly second to Sierra. But the difference in accuracy is usually insignificant for most shooters."

By VermontOfficial
from Vermont Shooter

"I am loading 1000 rounds for a varmint trip later this Spring. So far I have completed about 300 rounds with no problems. Tyhere have been no rejects and loading has gone smoothly. I have test fired about 10 rounds with good results, but I have no field experience to report on. I did use about 600 rounds with this bullet last varmint season and based on those results decided to reload with them this year."

75gr .25cal Hornady V-Max,
March 10, 2009
By WTHUNTER78
from MS
|
"These bullets are extremely accurate in my 257 Roberts. I'm using 49gr H414 behind the bullet. They will consistantly group under 1/2 inch at 100yds. I have only shot them thus far from the bench, but I'm confident they will perform well on any varmint you shoot them at. Give them a try, as you won't be disappointed."
