By reh
"purchased software for over the road use in car, highly disappointed in the quality of product. Had trouble installing, had to install 3 different times. not accurate at all. map detail is poor, i have lived in my house since 2001 and the street is not even in the map. for the money I definitely would not buy lowrance gps products."

Lowrance Map Create USA TOPO 7 Accessory Pack.,January 26, 2009
By mywitsendfrom From Reno but love the Sac Delta
"I was trying to add Topographic and dirt road detail to the base maps. Planned use was 50% back country roads and 50% boating detail on the Sac Delta. Goal was to have larger XOG screen for detail and easier viewing at night. Hand held GPS use prior to this attempt. Installation seemed easy enough, and using a 1 MG card allowed immense map loading, most of CA and NV. High hopes for trying same to the XOG for truck and boat navigation. But after installing Topo maps the units street maps were "Double Struck" and there were NO TOPO LINES. Tried deleting and re-install with small single maps, as I could see good topo detail on the computer, but it failed to transfer across to the card & GPS. (Using the LEI Card reader). Hope you have better luck, but I'll return Topo's and maybe try a blue chip in the Lowrance XOG."

"I bought this software to go with my xog gps from lowrance. The software works great on the computer but the transfer to the gps is limited. If you want to find wildlife management areas or streams it is very effictive."

Mapcreate 6.3,August 11, 2008
By fjigfishfrom Des Moines, Iowa
"I rate Mapcreate 6.3 as poor when compared to my earlier version 6.0. Although 6.3 software has a search capability built into it, which 6.0 does not when used on the PC; it does not allow one to find things in the area you are looking at on the map when displayed on the computer. For example, when I wanted to find camp grounds along the Mississippi River in NE Iowa Mapcreate 6.3 listed camp grounds as far away as California and on the east coast but none were displayed where I wanted to find them.
I have yet to use Mapcreate 6.3 on my Ifinder GPS unit. Hopefully, the find feature works better there. If not i'll need to stick with my earlier version of Mapcreate and send the product back to Cabela's for a refund."

Good product - Lowrance support?????,July 1, 2008
By GRRichfrom Michigan
"Purchased product while on vacation and had a little problem installing it. Called support and was told wait time would be more than 30 minutes. Emailed Lowrance support and received no reply for weeks. They are very busy this time of year (June). Got help from a computer savy friend and solved my own problem. Problem was not with the software or the fault of Lowrance. Pretty good maps but not the quality of USGS topos."

very UNuseful,May 5, 2008
By BamaBirddogfrom Alabama
"The Mapcreate software is the worst I have ever used. It did not have a card reader or card so using it with a GPS is useless. If you have a multicard reader on your computer.... no good. any store bought MMC card.... waste of money. The bad part is I love my Lowrance GPS, but I don't have any mapping software for it."

Not that easy to use - But worth the trouble,February 26, 2008
By justsofine
"This software is not for the inexperienced user - but it has some great advantages for the hunter and outdoorsman. The maps are invaluable for showing the boundries of hunting areas. There is other software that is much easier to use, but they are not as comprehensive as this software. Be aware that the maps are actually about 1-1/2 years behind what is really out there as far as new roads. They only update their software every 2 yrs, so the 2008 software is dated 2006."

"I updated to 7 from 6. There is more detail, especially in the lakes. The Points of Interest still need work. Not accurate enough. I am happy with it. I use it in the deep woods situations on Expedition C."

"this was an upgrade from 6.0. while it does not have every contour line on every lake in my area, it has most. first tried it out on lake pardee, california. nice lake to troll for koke's. but being a man made lake, depths can change. not wanting to destroy my 1116's, having a custom map loaded into my lowrance, made all the difference. a quality part of my trolling equipment!"

Map Create better for land than water,July 2, 2007
By dx9100from Traverse City, MI
"bought this for my Eagle GPS-Sonar, to create routes on the PC vs. the Eagle unit. software would be great for land based travel, but is very limited for water use. It does have many points of interest that do not show up on the chips, so using it as a cross reference for points of interest is helpful. I think it will also sonar play back, but Eagle has a demo that is free that will do that too. If bought for land only I would give it 5 stars."

POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE,April 23, 2007
By bankswallyfrom ephrata washington
"I RECENTLY PURCHASED A MAP CREATE 7 TOPO USA CD. I COULD NOT GET THE PROGRAM TO MAKE A MAP ON AN MMC CARD. I TRIED REINSTALLING, USED ANOTHER COMPUTER. ETC. WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO CONTACT THE MANUFACTURER I GOT A 30 MIN HOLD FOLLOWED BY LEAVE YOUR NAME WE WILL GET BACK TO YOU. NO RESPONCE. I THEN SENT AN E MAIL . NO RESPONCE. I THEN SENT A FAX. NO RESPONCE. I THEN SENT THE WHOLE MESS BACK. IF THE BACKGROUND MAP ON THE GPS UNITS WASNT SO USELESS THIS WOULD NOT BE NECESSARY."

very, very good over all,April 17, 2007
By JnLCfrom Maryland
"I wanted to say 4.5 stars, but that's not an option. MapCreate (6 or 7) has a higher and more current level of map data than other products we have. We use it with the Hunt C, a great device, but one that, for us, requires an external antenna, especially when under tree cover. My only negative for MapCreate is that it does not actually show trails on the map. There are some trail markers, but not the actual track of the trail itself. Since we do a lot of backpacking into unfamiliar wilderness areas around the country, trail markers, alone, are not enough. Thus, the loss of 1/2 a star. Trails, however, can be created in TOPO! or DeLorme and exported to a GPX file. Lowrance GPX to USR Geoacaching Utility allows for the conversion of GPX files to Lowrance .USR files for loading into your Lowrance GPS unit. GPS files can also be converted via Internet programs. Of course, once you have traveled a trail, you now have a track of it that can be saved and reused at will. Would we buy MapCreate again. Definitely! Would we recommend it to others. Definitely!"

Lowrance MapCreate TOPO CDs,November 20, 2006
By blewslbfrom Wisconsin Rapids, WI
"I give a decisive edge to these CDs, because they give a better over all picture of everthing needed to travel highways or offroad with the Lowrance H20 C than the MapCreate 6 CD.
I own both the non-TOPO and the TOPO versions
Having used this format (MapCreate TOPO CDs) extensivly, I would recomend it to both professional or casual users!"

Lowrance Mapcreate,October 23, 2006
By Joe21from Michigan
"I purchased this software for use with my Lowrance Expedition C handheld GPS. Unfortunately it appears to be the only topo map program that is available for the iFinder Hunt, H2O, and Expedition units. The maps contained in this package are very out-of-date, POIs are in wrong locations, and many streets are shown 200-300 feet off the true location. I'm hoping Lowrance is working on an updated and more accurate version. (On a positive note, the Expedition C itself works great. I can easily return to waypoints within 13 feet. The problem, as I said, is that they rarely show up in the true location on the background map from MapCreate.)"
