Best Saltwater Reel for the Flats,December 22, 2008
By Bassman17SCfrom Nashville, TN
"I bought an Everglades model to take down to Andros on the advice of a friend. It was the best move I could have made. We were having to fish with 20# and 25# test leaders because of the big bonefish we were casting to plus we had to get the hooked fish to hand FAST because of the sharks. The Tibor has an unbeatable drag and the retrive ratio is faster than even the Abels. I plan on buying another one. No other saltwater fly reel brands for me except Tibor."

Tibors,August 6, 2008
By DrDavidfrom Miami, Fl
"I have used these reels for years for inshore and offshore saltwater fishing. They have been flawless. This is the reel you want if your going to chase big fish, and you still want to pass it on to your kid one day. If your trying to decide which to go high end on, the rod or the reel, go for the reel. There are now several rods that are reasonable that will do everything you need."

Awesome Reel,September 23, 2007
By Striperman101from Charlestown RI.
"I recently purchased the Tibor Everglades. Although i have not yet used the reel it seems very durable, the drag is very sensitive and you can really fine tune it when you are using a lighter leader. Overall look and performance it gets a 10 out of 10."

The best,March 9, 2007
By gearcollectorfrom Great lakes region
"As an avid Big Game Fly Fisherman, I have had the benefit of fishing many of the top brands. Ross, Tibor, Billy Pate (also from Ted Jurasic), Orvis, Harris Solitudes,Abel, G-loomis and some of the cheapies in comparison Tioga, Reddingtons, ETc.
The finest reel is the Tibor. The drag is the smoothest, best tippet protecting drag of all, IMO. I often fish for Salmon in the 30 pound range with 6 to 8 pound tippets and never have breakoffs due to startup inertia. When stoppping 50lb plus fish, the drag tightens down to a very aggresive fish slowing intensity. I lost three of them in Alaska a few years ago and was in need of replacements. The door was open for anything and I chose Tibor again. You do get what you pay for.
I currently own 3 sizes of these reels and a Ross Canyon and a couple of Solitudes. No question, they all work, but I have the most confidence in the Tibor. But it, it's expensive, but will last a lifetime (unless your raft goes over and your gear nets rips)."

"In my opinion these are the best fly reels you can buy. I have four and use them for everything from bonefish to smaller tarpon .They have a simple durable design. I think they are worth the price, they will last forever."
