Ripped,
November 2, 2009
By jnyvegas
|
"I used this on a fishing trip to Brazil and checked the bag. It ripped and had a lot of scratches(small rips) the are soon to become rips.. I would not use it if you are going to check a bag on an airline...It would probably be good for a boat bag or a fishing trip where you just put it in the car. It also not easy to carry."

Works like a charm,
September 11, 2009
By OldGuyToo

"I love this bag - I can put a lot of stuff in it, and with the air valve can get rid of the extra bulk, or leave it partially inflated to add buoyancy. The bag works like a charm (I tested it by filling it up with some heavy items and purposely submerged it - came out dry as a bone). If I had a criticicm, I would like the bag to be a bit wider and less deep. But all things considered, it's an awesome bag for a good price."

6 day Canadian Canoe trip,
August 19, 2009
By MItransplantinNJ
from Da UP of Michigan

"I bought this bag to line my back pack. I canoed 75 miles of six days. My pack got really wet due to rain and water in the canoe but my stuff stayed bone dry in the Cabela's XPG Dry Sacks. It was really nice having the valve at the bottom of the sack to get all the air out thus saving lots of room for other stuff in my pack. Thanks Cabelas for a great product and a good price."

Dry bag,
July 28, 2009
By BMWK1200GT
|
"I purchased this bag to carry my camping equipment on my motorcycle. I was able to stuff my tent, thermarest, folding chair, and tarp in it with room to spare. I bunggeed it down to the bike, and off I went. Of course it rained like the dickens, but my gear stayed dry. As an added bonus at the camp site we used the bag as a beer cooler putting a case of beer in it with ice. It worked great, chilled down the beer in no time. One of the best things about the bag is it's very flexible, and light weight in comparisson to other dry bags. The air valve allows you to get all the excess air out of the bag after you fill it. I highly recommend this bag."

I own four.,

"I bought one of these last year and I was so satisfied I bought three more this year. I also own a Cabelas Boundary Waters II, but bought these specifically for fitting through my kayak hatches. The valve is a great feature.
I just got back from a trip with a large group. Most of the crew did not own dry bags before the trip and asked for recommendations. I've owned several brands from several sources and told them to get Cabelas Boundary Waters II or Cabelas XPG."

"Purchased this bag to hold PFD's, you know the kind that go off even if it is foggy out. After rearming them several times when they went off in the locker on my boat, I purchased this bag and put them in. Perfict, absolutly dry. Can not say enough about these bags. I will purchase more to stash some towels and dry cloths on the boat."

Road trip storage and transport,
January 5, 2009
By Philly1
from Philadelphia, PA
|
"I was going to buy a hard sided car roof storage case but instead I bought two of these bags to transport clothes and winter gear for a trip to Quebec. I loaded the bags to absolutely full and used tie downs to secure them to the roof. The bags went through rain, snow, sun and road salt and the contents of the bag came through just fine and the bags had no signs of wear. They held more gear than a roof rack case too. The bags worked out just as well as I had hoped; I would highly recommend them."

Week Moose Hunt,
October 9, 2008
By duckslayer28
from Nome Alaska
|
"I went on an 8 day fly out float trip in Alaska which can be very demanding on equipment. I bought 2 of these bags for the trip because they are lighter weight than the normal PVC bag. The new technology with the air release valve is awesome but the material the bag is made of is very weak. I had to duck tape the bags in about 8 different spots on each bag and I was trying to be gentle with them. My stuff did not get wet because of the duck tape but I would not recommend this bag because of the material. This was a great Moose hunt and I live up here and the demand for excellent equipment is necessary and I hope that cabelas can make a more durable product with the air valve."

Large Dry Sack,
September 22, 2008
By lehigh415
from Philadelphia, PA
|
"I purchased this dry bag for my first trip to Alaska. I had never used a dry bag before, but my buddy told me to get one. After shopping around, I decided on the Cabela's model. It worked great, keeping my extra clothes, and extra flies dry no matter what. It rained all day one day, and the bag sat in the bottom of the boat in an inch or two of water - no problem. One feature that I really liked was the valve to let out the air. My buddy struggled to get all the air out of his bag. I just rolled mine up, and opened the valve to let out any air that was trapped in the bag. A really handy feature. If you're looking for a dry bag, I highly recommend this model."

Dry sacks keep things dry,
June 10, 2008
By Hankcanoes

"These are high quality dry sacks with an air release valve. I found the large size to be the most useful, it held clothes for a week long canoe trip. The medium size bag was too narrow and too long to be convienent to get things in and out of."

"We were fishing in 16 ft boats in Ontario and used the bags for our Cameras. "Very good Cameras". Between the weather and bait buckets there was water in the boat quite often & our gear never even got damp. The bags performed perfectly."
