Best Fishing Box for the $$$, September 12, 2009
By KYhunter71 from Virginia

"I had all my fishing gear stolen and had to replace everything. I bought all my gear and this box holds it all. Each container holds every lure I need and by category, i.e., jigs, spinners, deep water, top water, etc. Well worth the money and excellent product."

Plano 7271 Takes the Prize: Safe, Portable Storage, September 9, 2009
By vermontmark from Vermont

"I purchased a 7271 a few years ago because it was the only portable tackle box I could find that was so versatile and yet still relatively compact. It is not smal, but not too big, but it contains enough separated space to hold tackle options for several different fishing disciplines and in sufficient quantities to feel fully outfitted while fishing.

Top features I have noticed while using it for two and a half seasons:

1] Rain proof/splash proof: Lid and covers are designed in such a way that when closed, it will not let water get into the box. If it does happen to get in there, the top cavity is outfitted with drain holes so water - and dirt!- do not accumulate.

2] It holds 3 3650 or 3600 latching boxes which slide out like drawers. You don't have to open the whole thing to get out one type of lure

3] The smaller side compartment holds four smaller boxes behind a separate latching door from the main compartment. These are great for flies, streamers, smaller spoons, etc. and again has the same benefit of only having to open a small container instead of taking up a lot of space like those accordion boxes.

4] The top latching compartment is spacious. I don't use spinner baits, so I have spools of leader material, a Plano Micro Magnum, and some other stuff where the spinnerbait racks were. Baggies and packs of soft baits, pliers, bottom bouncer weights, dodgers, and a couple of big crank baits reside in the spacious main top-accessible storage area, along with my fillet knife.

5] In the top lid are two latching compartments with clear lids. These are great places to put cranks or spoons safely away while fishing when you just need to get a line back in the water. In one side I keep a hook file, ceramic hook sharpener, and a small diamond stone, with a couple of widgets I might want in an "emergency." The other side stores a few snaps, swivels, etc, but I use it mostly for a quick place to put stuff when I want to put in its "right" place later.

6] Because the 3600-series trays can be mixed-and-matched it is versatile, but I prefer a hard box to the duffel-bag tackle storage options. This box gives you the versatility of the bag but without the wet-cloth issues you might have with a bag.

I have enjoyed this box so much that when I have thought about my couple of extra 3650 boxes I use I had almost bought another. Then recently I noticed that Plano makes a companion box - the 1374- which is narrower, but holds four of the 3650s. These two boxes are the greatest portable small tackle storage I can imagine.

Great "All Together Box", July 27, 2009
By fisherman94 from Kentucky

"I am a young fisherman, but not so much a beginner. This is a great box mostly for the reason of its storage capacity. I wanted a box that i could fit all of my stuff in and i definatlly found it with this one. i previously had about two or three 3600 boxes in a little backpack, but i wanted just ONE box. This was definatly worth the money. For some who is older and has a boat of their own, i would highly recomend this box. It has great storage. I love the spinnerbait feature, the huge space up top, the tree boxes, and the space to the right. Mine came with two little boxes to go in the space on the right side, but i had two more so i added them and i love it. I have tried many different methods of tackle storage and so far, this one is the best!"

Good Show, March 15, 2009
By bassmn from Kalona, Ia

"This i a great tackle box, easy access for the removable trays, easy view lid and enough room to hold alot of extras in the top compartment. I like the two clear view top sections which allow you to be able to keep your most commonly used lues and some spare hooks. The front pannel is clear plastic and looks like it would break easy but i have had this box for about 2 years now and as of yet mine has held up. It has a nice area for some of the larger spinner rigs to help keep them divided, and the small section for the removable boxes is great to keep a nice assortment of hooks and weights that you could grab for on the go bank fishing with out having to take the whole box. This small compartment will hold upto 4 small boxes stacked. the top compartment allows you to cary some tools, spare reel and spare line as well, all around a great little box."

Very Good Box, August 3, 2008
By GIZMO21187 from Brownsville Texas

"I don't like to use boxes in boxes, however I purchased this for kayak/canoe fishing just in case it (I) tip over every thing will stay in place. There are 3 mane lock boxes that are great for rigging boxes/kit. I have one box for bass worm/plastic lure kit, one for salt water less the floats, and one just for weights (the bottom one of course). I have four smaller lock boxes one the side I use for jigs and salt ware lures only used one.
and of course 3 plates to hang 27 spinner baits tightly spaced tough.
Great box if you know your going to tip over the box a few times. a lot of space for the price and every thing stays in place
the only complaint is the the spinner hangers do not have a lever lock to hold them in place if you tip over but will not go far because the lid is so close.
