"Works well all though not 100%. Probably good tape on 80% of the bags first time I used it. Maybe will get better after I use it more. Had some bags from before so cannot comment about bag quality."

COmplete waste of money,

"I bought this kit to use while processing a deer. It is a complete waste of money. The tape machine doesn't work well and you must go very slow to get the tape to adhere to the bag. Constatntly digging broken tape out of the machine. The bags that come with the machine are not as they are pictured. They are weak and will break at the seams with the slightest pressure. I finally got a few to fill and as soon as I stacked them in the freezer the weight of the other bags caused the seams to split again. Don't waste your money."

"I would say the taper machine works very well. The trick to the taper is to make sure you engage the top of the bag into the "wheel". As long as you get it engaged, the tape will apply. On occasion, the tape doesn't stick, but I would equate that more to moisture on the bag, or operator error.
Many have said that the bags are thin and break at the seams. Those comments are correct, however can be avoided by not overfilling the bags. I agree, I don't care for the thing, long 1 pound bags. Overall, the taper is great."

"The main issue is the bags. VERY skinny and long. They also seem a little thin but they do get the job done. Also the tape does not always seal properly but you just redo it and it is fine. I have never used one before so this may be normal. Overall, a good, helpful product."

"the tape and dispenser are fine but the bags are garbage in my opinion, they are paper thin and leak blood at the seams.
the bags used to be shorter and wider and they seemed more durable... now they are longer and narrower and it seems that if you let them "fold" when they are full but not frozen you can just count on the bags leaking where they kinked.
hopefully they will go back to the old style bags or i can find some better bags somewhere else, otherwise this tape machine is gonna stay in the box, to me it's just not worth the mess in the fridge and freezer.
when will these manufacturers realize that we will pay more for quality?"

"The bags split at the seams.
I've noticed several small splits along the seams of most of the bags. I originally attibuted this to overfilling so I reduced the amount of meat I put in each bag but they still split.
I've had to pull the tape out of the machine several times because it would not wrap around the bag. When it does wrap around the bag it's usually loose or comes undone.
This packaging kit has been a big dissapointment."

"Nifty little tool makes packaging lots of ground meat a snap. We did 20 lbs of sausage in just a few minutes. They are sealed full and tight and will be good for slicing for breakfast."

"This product was incredibly easy to use. Just feed the tape and the dispenser does the rest, wraps the tape around and cuts it to length. It sure beats doing it by hand. I would highly recommend this product to anybody that processes their own deer."
