"Everything looks fine until you lift up on the handle and find that the dutch oven is not centered and you lose what your cooking. Taking this back and getting a lodge."

Dutch oven heaven,

"My husband and I are going camping next summer with our two youngest boys. We started our supply runs with purchasing a 10-inch, 6 Qt, tri-leg dutch oven from the Cabela's line. We LOVE it! We have purchased an additional one, two lid stands, two carry/storage bags and the lid/oven lifter. We have had the first one for about a month and have used it three times. The second one has been used once and that was at a family party where we fixed vegetable beef stew using coals using both dutch ovens. I love the quality and durability of the products purchased and will be looking at completing our camping supplies through Cabela's if possible."

Great Product,

"We bought this dutch oven as an investment. After looking at the prices of other dutch ovens, we chose Cabela's because of the price and Cabela's good name. I am very happy we did. The inside of the lid can also be used as a cooking surface. i would suggest getting the lid lifter (by Lodge). With this size pot it is needed. We also purchased the lid stand (also by Lodge) which is also very helpful. Be aware that the pot is very heavy and usually my husband cleans it."

"bought the 16" 12qt dutch oven dicription is wrong. it actually 18qt...big enought to feed a small army/a bunch of hungery scouts. Casting is high quality.. will order a smaller version just for the family"

"Love the new dutch oven, made a big pot of chili outside with briquets and it came out fantastic.Going to enter a dutch oven cookoff this next week-end and looking forward to using it again. "I enetred a chili cook-off using a 16 inch that I purchased last year. Filled the 16inch with my chili receipie and stacked a 14 inch oven on top with corn bread. Results 2nd place. Great cookware."

"I received a 10" Lodge and a 12" Cabela's Dutch oven for Christmas. I have to say that the Lodge was much better quality.
I have always heard that Lodge was the best and my experiece proves that. The lid on the Cabela's had a sloppy fit, wobbled by as much as 1/4 inch. The kettle appeared to have a low area around the lip which caused the lid to wobble . The Cabela's DO was returned to be exchanged for a Lodge."

"Spectacular! Just used the new 14 inch for the first time and it is amazing. I am particularly impressed with the extra wide rim of the lid which helps keep ash out of the food when rotating the lid during cooking. Don't get me wrong, I collect Wagner, Griswold and Wapack and have used Lodge and Camp Chef for years; but, when Ohio Camp Cooks goes looking for an "Official Oven" it'll be Cabelas Outfitter Series."

"I purchased the 10" Cabela's Dutch Oven last week and have already prepared 2 campfire meals with it. I was a little concerned because Lodge products seem to be the ones to aspire to but I didn't want to spend that much when I wasn't sure that I'd use it that much so I order the Cabela's brand. The quality was better than I expected, matter of fact, I liked it so much I ordered the 5 piece set. Next on my list, the 12" dutch oven. Plus, I can't say enough good about the Cabela's customer service. I had to return an item that I bought thinking I could use it also and they were wonderful to work with."
