porous canoe cover,
August 4, 2009
By spirit54

"this cover fit fine & probably protects it from sun damage, but we had hoped that the wood rims would stay dry & not need to be refinished (which we'd done in the past). unfortunately, the water collects & needs to be emptied after the rain...time will tell if it helps or not."

great fabric, weak zipper,
August 3, 2009
By cloudwalk

"The fabric seems to be holding up well in the intense California sun, however the zipper seems to require a bit of finessing and is too delicate for the job. I would have been happy to pay more for a robust full length zipper."

High Quality Cover at a Reasonable Price,
July 6, 2009
By DBMissoula
from Western Montana
|
"I got the 18 foot cover for a 17 1/2 foot expedition canoe. The canoe is a very lightweight Kevlar/fiberglass/epoxy layup and I got the cover mostly to protect the laminate from UV degradation. The cover material (polyester?) seems tough and heavy enough to provide good sun protection but is light and pliable enough to make it easy to slip it on and off the canoe. It does not have a full-length zipper but I think this actually makes it easier to put the cover on, if you have two people working at it. I haven't tried to put it on by myself. Might still be easy to do by sliding an upright canoe into it. I've only had the cover for a month so I can't comment on the durability yet, but I'd be surprised if it didn't hold up for several years."

Great Cover just A BAD Zipper Is all,
May 5, 2009
By BLASTER5
from Up State New York where the Hunting is FANTASTIC
|
"This Is a Fantastic Cover and Very Well made But when it came to the Zipper It was not up to the task of Working It Is Plastic and would not stay closed. It would pop open at a non stess point even, when zipping it up. So The Cover Material is Great but It Just Needs a Much Better Quality Zipper and i had to Return it Sorry. I Will pay for Quality And this was Just Lacking that one Most Important Item the Zipper To Keep it closed and to Think this is suposed to be able to withstand the forces of being on a roof top while Driving with this Cover on, Sorry not with the ZIPPER it has on it so Just put a higher quality Zipper on it and I Will buy it Again. I think this Is about the only Real Negitive Feedback i have Given on an Item, all and every thing else has been top Notch from Cabelas ..Thanks"

Cabela's canoe-kayak cover,
April 15, 2009
By Anonymous
|
"I have to store my 17' royalex canoe outside year-round. Both the New Mexico sun and winds are fierce so a tarp just doesn't cut it. The canoe cover from Cabela's is full-coverage so it provides excellent protection and the wind can't rip it loose. This is my first season, but so far the material is holding up great and the entire product inspires a lot of confidence. Also comes in different sizes so I got one that fits just right."

14 foot Canoe cover,
July 7, 2008
By JJJJJJJJJ
from Goldsboro, NC

"The product was great, exactly what I requested. There was a problem with the shipping though which brought me a very nice machete that I did not order. Cabala’s fixed it by shipping off the correct product immediately by the date I needed it and doing so before receiving the erroneous shipment back. Greta remedy and quick delivery."

Kayak Cover,
March 31, 2008
By corpuschristi
from San Antonio, TX
|
"Well made. Wish there was a in between size like 14' instead of 13' to 16" cover. Most of the people I know that have Kayaks in the range of 14' so they can use at the Texas coast and inlet rivers around San Antonio & Austin."

Old Town Camper canoe and cover,
November 12, 2007
By jbsierra
from San Luis Obispo, California
|
"The canoe arrived in short order, considering it was shipped across the counrty. It arrive without a scratch. It was all I hoped it would be in terms of looks. On the water it moved like a wood/canvass canoe, and with minimum effort. My wife and I are very pleased with the product. Even the rangers at our lake were impressed with its looks and the way it moved through the water. Keep in mind it weights slightly more than fifty pounds. The cover is excellent and does the job it was purchased to do. Both the cover and the canoe are, in my estimation, a good value for the money."

Canoe cover,
September 17, 2007
By farnold
from Finger Lakes Region of New York State
|
"This cover fit my 16ft. Old Town like a glove. Installing the cover is a little work because the zipper only goes about 4ft. from the one end. Also, the cover is only water resistant and soaked up with water after 2 rain falls. Once the cover is in place and zipped, inside the canoe will be critter free. Because of our rough winter conditions in this area, I will be covering the canoe cover and all with a nylon tarp. In my opinion, the canoe cover is worth the money and will certainly aid in slowing down color fade due to UV rays and help keep the entire canoe clean."
