works perfectly,

"I ordered this scale at the same time as the FISH GRIP FISH HOLDER (Item number: IK - 013780) and they work well together. I also ordered one for my fishing partner and we measured several fish with both scales with identical readings. I used the calibrated weight set that I use to insure that the triggers on the service rifles that I build break at the minimum legal weight and the scale read them right on the money."

Cabela's Spring Scale,
April 20, 2009
By MJRodney
from Florida
|
"I purchased this 50 lb capacity spring scale not to weigh fish, but rather the propane tanks that power my gas grill.
I wanted a more precise way to measure the amount of propane remaining in the tank. I became annoyed at paying for a full tank refill when there were several pounds of propane left in the tank.
The old trick of pouring hot water on the tank, and add on pressure gauges didn't meet my needs.
The scale does. It is right on the mark for an empty tank, as well as for a full tank.
Now I know that a 6 hour, low and slow smoke, of my ribs takes 2 lbs of propane.
When this scale shows that I have 3 lbs of propane remaining, I start the smoke cycle without fear that it will run out of gas before the end."

"I have not caught a fish big enough to test the limits of this particular (100# Limit) scale, but I have been using it for weighting my luggage (TSA Baggage Limit of 50#) and its accurate!"

Good looking strong scale.,

"I use this product for a couple of weeks. I was looking for a compact, strong and easy to use scale to test used paragliders lines. Heavy duty 150 lbs Cabela's spring scale proved to be a good choice. Scale did not change zero setting after full 150 lbs load was applied multiple times, using tensioning device. Good product,"

Cabela's spring scale 100lb,
November 20, 2006
By SpearFisher
from East Tn
|
"I use this product all the time while I am out spear fishing from my canoe. I treat it rough and it takes it all in stride.
The cross bar lets me hoist even the heaviest of carp or gar, largest so far is a little over 60lbs. However, I have maxed it out using weights to do some quality testing, didn't complain a bit.
In conclusion, it is built well and with a handy loop so you can hang it on your tool wall, or string up your fish. It has sat in the bottom of my wet canoe, and doesn't show a bit of corrosion and that is after several seasons of hard use.
Props! The Spear Fisher"

HOW BIG??,
November 20, 2006
By Bunnie
from Illinois
|
"This is the ultimate lie detector! I have fished with my son for over thirty years in the North Woods and have always bowed to his guesstimates. For the past few years - usually when I am fixing dinner or relaxing around the fire - he will return with a marvelous story about the ultimate "big one". Catch and release is the norm now so I usually take his word for the weight. But now, it's truth time. The scale will tell the tale! Okay ladies, purchase this for all the fisherman in your lives.."
