The outer shell is constructed of virtually indestructible 1,000-denier Cordura® Plus nylon that offers extreme resistance to abrasions, punctures and tearing. Plus, it's polyurethane-coated to effectively repel both water and wind. And the arctic-weight polyester lining is quilted to smooth 100% nylon for exceptional warmth without binding. A split bi-swing back combines with pleated elbows for complete freedom of movement that won't slow you down. Two-way front zipper with hook-and-loop secured wind flap to seal out cold air. Extra-large front pockets are great for warming hands or holding tools and the chest pockets have hook-and-loop closures to
keep essentials secured. These coats also have two interior security pockets, along with

"had coat for 6 years of hard use here in montana-very warm and mositure resistant, can't seem to wear it out. however the only color is black and I always look dirty, the zipper had to be replaced at 2 years and the pockets worn thru a long time ago."

"I would have to say as far as the coat itself goes it is one of the best wearing coats that I have ever owned. I am 6 foot 3 and am around 285 lbs and I can say the size 3XL coat fits very well. For other guys that fit into that same size category they know how hard it is to find clothing that fits just right.
I have been wearing my coat now for about 3 years and am impressed that with all of the wear it has gone through it still looks like brand new (with the exception of the collar that shows some fading from age). If I had any complaints about the coat it would be that the zipper is starting to shell out. I am disappointed in that for the mere fact that the coat still has years of life left in it. If you are looking for something that will keep your warm though, this is it!!"

"I got this for my husband. He has worn it for about a month and hasn't torn it yet, which is a very good sign. He's the worst on all clothes. He says it is very warm, and it has been way below freezing for over a month, even below zero for several days, and he didn't complain, except when he's doing heavy work, it's a little too warm. So probably not practical for someone doing heavy physical work outside, unless it is below zero. Size was perfect."

"I live in Montana, and work outside at a stockyards for 8+ hours a day. I wear this jacket with just a sweatshirt and i'm usually SWEATING halfway through the day. It's only December, and the temperature here hasn't been above 25F in three weeks (not counting the 20mph windchill that is common here). So, i was worried that i was going to freeze at work. Not so with this coat (try pairing it with a pair of bibs)!"

"I work outside everyday in New England. This is the warmest jacket I've ever had. I've worked for the telephone company for 20 years and this jacket has been in man holes, up on poles at night in the dead of winter, I couldn't live without it. My only advice is if you get this jacket...get the bib pants too."

"I've worn this coat on our farm in the winter. It is extremely warm -- I usually don't even need to layer underneath it. It's also pretty tough, I run into lots of sharp edges in our barns, and I've never torn this coat. This coat is warmer than my peacoat. I ordered a size up; the drawstring at the waist inside the coat is very useful here, and the zipper functions at the top and bottom are nice for times sitting on the tractor."

"I love my new Arctic Coat. It was quite cold here in Tullahoma when my wife and I took our morning walk. I wore the coat for the first time and stayed as warm as toast. It fit well also. It was just what I was expecting from Cabela's and Carhartt. Cabela's is where we do most of our shopping."
