Image of DT Micro-iDT Z Obedience Trainer

The transmitter's exceptionally compact design fits easily in the palm of your hand and the receiver has no external antennas, making this training unit perfect for hunting and household use. The waterproof collar receiver is streamlined, so it doesn't inhibit your dog's movement and the 3/4" collar adjusts to fit small to extra-large necks. The 16 stimulation intensity levels let you match the correction to your dog's temperament, while the detent dial prevents unintentional high or low stimulation. Choose from momentary or constant stimulation or vibration mode: all have an automatic eight-second safety shutoff to prevent prolonged stimulation. The 900-yard range is ideal for in-the-field and domestic use, while the collar has a built-in rechargeable NiMH battery, charger included. The water-resistant transmitter runs off a 9-volt disposable or rechargeable battery (not included).

DT Micro-iDT Z Obedience Trainer, October 12, 2009
By kjzubarik from Muskego, WI

"I purchased the two dog unit and have had zero issues. I can easily switch between dogs/collars to train one at a time. The collars were more than long enough for my Golden Retriever's neck (large dog) and were easily trimmed to an appropriate length. This is a great product for obediance training and habit breaking. Three options (nick, continuous, and vibrate) for variying degrees of training."

Training Collar, September 20, 2009
By LabpupTraining from Joliet, IL

"Collars work well. I've had no problems with them. The only problem with the two dog controller is the dog selection switch is very small. Good quality for a good price."

IDT Z3000 Dog Collar, July 10, 2009
By almostgaveup from Albion, NY

"I picked this collar after reading through some of the reviews on this and other ones. I have to say this collar has been a life saver for a dog that I took off the hands of someone else who couldn't handle him. I tried a good 3 weeks of leash training, but if the leash wasn't accessible, he would be out of control, bolting from our yard and running down the road, jumping on the kids, chasing the cats and generally unwilling to be submissive. From the moment I put this collar on him, he has finally given in and will listen and obey my commands. I've had to use the electronic hits very infrequently, as the first time he bolted out the door and started running, I hit him with the continuous (which i did have to turn up a bit from the level I usually have it on) and he immediately came right back home. He is now very good about staying in our property lines which are expansive, and I am very happy that I can let him run around and get the exercise he needs without worrying about him running off. I would strongly suggest a good obediance background first, with your dog knowing what the basic commands are, but for dogs that are extremely strong-willed, this is a great tool. I was worried about the excess collar, but my dog who has chewed through other collars, has not damaged this one. The range has been good for me so far and I am extremely happy with the quality and performance for the price. 2 thumbs up!"

Works good, July 6, 2009
By doomee2 from Clarkesville Georgia

"We have a husky that we had problems with chasing deer.

We purchased the collar and I have been able to stop the running.

The only problem that I expierenced was due to his thick hair around his neck. The collar has to be really tight in order for the probes to get good contact.

Once I got him use to the schock I started on the vibrate. Now all I have to do is vibrate and he stops instantly.

For the price I recommentd the collar.

How to Make a Pit Bull behaive, June 15, 2009
By HaulMore from Tucson, AZ

"I have a bit bull. She's a great dog (my other dogs are labs), her only problem has been occasional violent reaction to dogs she's not acquainted with. This Trainer does the job. It has a buzz setting, a blip electrical setting, and a long hold electrical setting. When the dog reacts badly all I usually have to do is buzz her to let her no what's she's doing should stop. If the buzz doesn't work I upgrade to the electrical blip, and then on rare occasion to long electrical setting. This Trainer really works - I was going to get rid of this dog until I got the Trainer. It's allowed me to keep a great dog and maintain an acceptable degree of control and safety."

Good product, May 18, 2009
By BrogB1

"This is a good product for the price. It's easy to use and understand and incudes a basic training guide. After charging overnight is ready to go. It didn't say how long the current charge would last each time so that has been an issue for us. We have a Jack Russell that we are using the collar on - he is small and the collar on this is very long. It's been an issue trying to figure out what to do with the extra collar as the transmitter is inside and you can't cut the collar. We're currently trying velco but it's a bit bulky for a small dog. I'd recommend it for medium/large dogs but my bad, I should have perhaps educated myself more before the purchase and looked for something that had an adjustable/cutable collar."

Fit for a bear!!!, April 21, 2009
By rjp1 from Stockton, California

"The micro iDT was purchased for use on my Brittanys. Their necks are 9-10". Because companies are embedding the antennas in the collars, I was unable to cut the collar to get rid of the excess length. The collar is 24" long and the company's response was to wrap the collar back around through the D-ring. The reality was the collar is too stiff and the ring to small. They offered to change collars that would be more flexible, but there would be this big loop where the collar was looped back around. I could see every stick, branch, etc. getting snagged in the loop. Also by changing the collar, my warranty would be invalidated. I understand the problem, accomodating dogs from small to large necks, but this is not the answer. Will return the product. Seems like all of the companies are embedding the antennas and are only making collars so large that they do not accomodate a small to medium sized dog. I'll keep looking. Other than that problem, and it is a big problem, DT was helpful and offered to change collars for free. This just wasn't a solution I was willing to try until I could see if I could find a company that makes adjustable collars. DT does not."

Collar, March 17, 2009

"The only issue we had the collar itself is too long. Our dog was able to chew it. The instructions state not to cut it. They should be able to supply different lengths. Other than that it works very well."

Not bad, February 28, 2009

bad collar, January 20, 2009

"too stiff in cold alaska to fasten with intregal antenna, receiver lasts virtually 15 minutes or less at -20. transmitter controls very small and impossible to access with gloves. I ordered an tritronics from cabelas and much more impressed. Go for the extra expense and get quality"

remi boo, December 20, 2008
By remiboo from Pelkie, Michigan

"We love the dogs training collars. They work awesome. We have 2 german shorthair pointers. Our female is 13 months old and our male is 6 months old. Our female always ran way to far inhead of us and once we got the collar now she stays with in shooting range of the birds. We had other collars and they did not work as well as these do. It was the best investment we have made."
