"I have had this vest for about 12 years. My first dog died at 8yrs and the vest was thrown around the garage for a few years until my golden came into play and the vest is still going strong. The zipper is a little weak but I cannot complain."

"I had been shopping for a vest for a while for my lab. I was a bit hesitant at first to order one out of a catalog seeing as how we could not "try it on" my lab. The catalog had very specific dimensions listed to measure on my dog in order to determine which vest to order. After receiving the vest a few days later, we had some "dressing room" time. To my amazement, the vest fit exactly how I figured it would. My dog did not match all of the dimensions on the chart but I followed the instructions and ordered the vest that would fit the largest measurement of all listed. It worked out great because this product has stitches cut into the the seams where the neoprene is stiched together allowing for trimming of the vest in areas that are not conducive to the movement of the dog. On top of that, the velcro seam on the top side of the vest is two inches wide allowing for extra "customizing" for the fit to the dog. In saying this, I could tighten the vest up in areas that were a little bit loose simply by overlapping the velcro a little bit in order to take out any slack. Overall, I am extremely impressed with the thought and engineering that went into this product. To manufacture an item that will fit an array of sizes of dogs; because we all know that some of us have a little bit more around the midsection than others, is truly a remarkable product. I would highly recommend this item to any of my hunting buddies."

"My black lab has used this vest all last year for waterfowl hunting and it remained soft (I think too soft for upland game) and retained its great color pattern. It was easy to fit and quicker to get on the dog than zipper-type. Unfortunaqtely, I will be buying an exact replacement vest . My lab went squirming on her back on some grass, undoing the velcro, and losing the vest. Still would recommend it."

"My Golden Retriver has a 34" Chest and the vest is tight but it works. The color is great and it could use a zipper to close it but it's OK. I think thiis is a good product for the price. "This vest is well-made and fits well.
I like that it has cross-stitching on some of the seams, so that you can cut out bits to make it fit better. For instance, I had to cut a a bit for my dogs man parts, and also make the arm holes bigger so the neoprene wouldn't rub on his armpits. With the cross-stitching, I am confident that the vest won't fall apart after being meddled with.
The velcro running down the back is quite strong, too. And it's fairly wide, so that the vest can be fitted just a big tighter or looser if needed.
While my dog hates the process of getting into the vest, once it's on he doesn't even seem to notice he's wearing it, so it must be comfortable for him.
Also, it made a huge difference in keeping him warm.
I had some sizing questions, because my dog does not have the typical Lab body type (he's a mix), and the person on the phone gave me good advice about which size to buy.
I NEVER thought I'd be buying clothes for my dog, but this vest was a great purchase. I plan to give it lots of use!"

"I had this same brand/style for two years when the velcro detached form the neoprene. This vest is just as wide at the waist as in the chest--if your dog has an athletic build expect gaps in the waist as well as having the vest all bunched around his neck if you use the vest to lift him in the boat/blind/truck... The one thing it could use is more bar tacks enabling the user to trim the vest without resewing."

"I bought the neoprene vest in size medium for use on my Field Trial Cocker Spaniel - perfect to waterfowl hunting, but to week for general use in woodland with tough thorny underwood - after the first real pheasant hunt in woodland the neoprene vest got a lot of damage in the front and on the sides - scratches around openings for the legs and the sewing-thread used to keep the parts together was totally flossy on the outside caused by the thorns - the camouflage cover and the sewing-thread is to week, but ... the neoprene keeps the dog warm!"
