"I have tried a number of rifle rest for bench work at the range, and have found this rest to be convenient, provides a very stable shooting surface with easy adjustment, and I would recommend it to others who shoot frequently."

"I found the front adjustments hang and are loose. The rest jumps with every shot. It works OK for a table vise or just something to set the gun down on."

"Well made product, heavy so it does not move around. I shoot AR15's and it has plenty of clearance for a 20 round clip."

Cabela's Premier Rifle Rest,September 1, 2008
By WildBearTamerfrom The State of Confusion
"This rifle rest is okay if all you want to do is have a good place to hold your gun while you work on it on the bench. As far as a precision device to help sight in your new scope, it leaves much to be desired. The first thing I didn’t like was the threaded bolt on the front mount, to hold the mount in place a ¼” bolt is tightened down on the threads of the ¾” bolt at a 90 degree angle. When you try to sight in a scope by raising or lowering the front support, all was fine until you tighten down the ¼” holding bolt, which forces the front support to move. A flat surface on one side of the ¾” bolt and a little brass shim stock helps fix this issue. Next thing was the rear support; there was no way to lock the support in place. It has a plastic washer between the riser and the support allowing the support to pivot. Replacing the plastic washer with an external star washer keeps it from pivoting down when the gun is fired. Then the ¼” bolts that are used to tighten things down are insignificant; I replaced mine with larger grade 8 cap head screws. This corrects the cheesy plastic knob issue, now I use an Allen wrench to tighten all of the hardware on the rifle rest. Would I purchase this again? No, I am glad it was on sale for half price, if not I would have to return it and get a nice fully adjustable precision competition type rest."

Cabela's Premier Rifle Rest,July 31, 2008
By KarlfromVirginiafrom Mechanicsville, Va.
"I have used this rifle rest at the range earlier this week and it preformed as well as I expected,........ very well. It was tested with two Mauser rifles a 22 and a 8M/M, 98K model, it was thought that I would need sand bags for the larger caliber rifle, but this was not the case at all. I then changed the configuration of the rest to suport my Kimber 45, here again performance was very good. Later that evening the rest was changed into a cleaning stand and this also worked great. I would recomend this for any one looking for a product like this to do multiple jobs and do them all well."

Premier Rifle Rest,April 21, 2008
By 10meterfrom Chicago, Ill.
"Although having read a few poor ratings on this rest due mostly to it's plastic knobs I found it quite good and have had no problem with them whatsoever. Having said that, I must say that I am using it to sight in 10 Meter Olympic Air Rifles and am not exactly exerting it to any pounding torture. For it's price I'll have to say it's one of the best purchases I have made in regards to the type of shooting I do."

By Frank07
"The rest would be good if it didn't have plastic knobs. they bust off in your hands. It could also use a sand bag for the front and back rest to make it better. I had to turn mine back in because of its poor quality."

Excellent Rest For The Money,August 27, 2007
By Like2Shoot5from Northeast Nebraska
"I have tried many different rests and/or bags. This rest gets my vote. Some of the smallest groups I have shot have been with this rest. Very solid. The only trouble I have had is the rubber feet fell off before I glued them on. I am so happy with this rest I have 2 now. I use them with all types of guns. I made a spacer from pvc to put under rear rest to get AR buttstock's elevated to level. This way I just take spacer out to level all other type rifles. Quick and easy."

"The rest works ok I guess...I've had better,,,but the plastic handles are cheesy, and one broke the first time I tightened it.I took the rest of them off and welded "T" handles on them all.I don't think a guy should have to do this with a"Premier"rifle rest."

Superior industrial design but cheap plastic knobs,July 30, 2007
By BayAreafrom California
"Superior industrial design but cheap plastic knobs & handles for adjustments. The basic structure of this is solid and very well designed. The one issue I had is two of the plastic knobs broke off the first time I used the rifle rest. The plastic seemed very brittle. I returned the rifle rest."

"Reasonably well made, no problems right out of the box. The dual rail system allows room for an AR15 30 rounders to extend down between them. Everything holds well and the pistol rest works well."
