When we put the name "Ultimate" on these hip boots, we made sure they were the most durable,
comfortable and affordable boots on the market. And now we've improved them even more by using a
specially formulated rubber that dramatically increases durability yet remains soft and flexible for
comfortable all-day wear. An air-bob outsole grabs the softest mud for a stable footing, while the
comfortable, contoured ankle fit cradles and supports your ankle for long days of walking and standing
on soft, unstable surfaces. This ankle-fit construction also prevents the boot from pulling loose when
trudging through the thickest mud. The upper skirt of the wader is backed with stretch nylon to
increase the comfort of the upper and make for easy on and off. And to ensure your waders fit as
snugly through the lower leg as they do in the ankle, a specialized calf harness with Velcro®
adjustment prevents any sagging or slippage. Insulated model is packed with 600-gram
Thinsulate™ to keep your feet warm while standing in icy waters. Nylon web belt strap with
quick-release buckles. Imported.
Weight: 7 lbs./pair.
Men's whole sizes: 7-14.

ultimate insulated contour hip boot,September 30, 2009
By moosehuntersfrom Yukon Territory, Canada
"My daughter and I bought these boots in time for our moose hunt this fall. They were chosen to replace the old contour ankle boots from Cabela's which were a brown boot with yellow lug sole. I was disappointed with the new boots for two main reasons. The old boots had a much better fit through the ankle, an important factor when hiking in wet terrain for a week or so at a time. My other complaint is with the tread design. The old design offered good traction but also cleared easily. The new boots pack up with mud and it won't wash out easily. As a result your boat ends up full of mud waffles. By the way we did take a nice bull."

Not the ultimate,November 3, 2008
By JH59
"I've got a standard size 9 foot & ordered a size 9 pair of Cabela's Ultimate Insulated Contour Hip Boots. The overall craftsmanship is fine. The problem with them is that the ankle hugging nature of the boots are so tight & skinny that I was not able to get my foot fully into the boot except with a very thin sock. Not the kind of sock you would wear by itself in waders. Anything thicker and forget it. Plus you can't even wear a normal or thicker cold weather pant because they also won't fit into the narrow ankle area. Your pant will just bunch up on your calf leaving you feeling uncomfortable. All-in-all the boots end up being a return item for a more functional pair of waders. Check out Cabela's 5mm Neostretc Hip Waders. Love 'em."

Insulated Contour Hip Boots,October 6, 2008
By shunkafrom Live Boise Idaho Hunting in Alaska
"Used these boots for moose hunting in Alaska. Most of our hunting and travel was done from a canoe in September. Area hunted was very wet with many lakes. Temperatures were in low thirty's to high in 60's. Boots kept me dry and warm through out the hunt. Excellent boot for this type of hunting."

ankle fit hip boots,September 23, 2008
By 2fargonefrom Northern Illinois
"I bought these for a Brown Bear hunt to Alaska. The guide told me to make sure to get boots with support. I read the previous reviews and bought one size larger than my normal size. I used liner socks and wool hunting socks with the boots and they fit fine. I walked many miles every day and couldn't change in and out of my normal hunting boots due to the water crossings. I never got wet, never got a blister and my feet never got cold even when fishing in the icy streams. By the 3rd day they felt like regular boots to me. The side snaps to secure them when rolled down are very handy. The calf support is an added bonus to keep them from sliding and pulling your socks down. The belt straps keep them up high enough so that water doesn't wash in when crossing a deep stream. The sole provides awesome traction both in the tundra and the stream bottom. Buy one size larger than normal and use the liner socks with your hunting socks."

Cabela's Ultimate insulated contour hip boot,June 16, 2008
By Faribankshunterfrom Fairbanks, Alaska
"I purchased these hip boots to use for Caribou and Moose hunting in Alaska, where I live. I have only worn them once so far, but they have fair ankle support, come on and off easily, and are warm and comfortable. The air-bob type sole provides good traction in the tundra and swampy ground. They also have pretty good arch support."

contour hip boots,November 28, 2006
By Koyukfrom Mossy, WA
"This is my third pair of Cabela's hip boots over the past decade or so. The Cabela's contour boot has always been - in my opinion - one of the best hip boots available. The best feature of the boot is also the worst: the close-fitting ankle. This feature makes these a great choice for walking - say, when hunting in Alaska. But getting them on can be a challenge because of the snug fit. Drying them thoroughly at the end of the day helps a lot, and that's a good idea in any case. The right combination of socks helps, too. For those times you can't dry them out (like camping in damp cold weather), a small piece of plastic tarp or bag can be a kind of shoehorn to help get them on. It's a small price to pay for hip boots you can actually walk in."

Cabela's Ultimate Insulated Contour Hip Boot,November 27, 2006
By h20rsqfrom AK
"We go through hip waders about every 2 years. We mostly use them for brown bear hunting. These cabelas ultimate hip boots are great for the hunter who needs a boot to fit snug and allow easy movement. The 600 grams of insulation is not too much. I found in 20 degree weather sitting on a hill side glassing for bears the boots do quite well. The neoprene liner on the inside is a great touch. It allows the upper to move with little to no drag on your knees. The outer rubber on the upper seams to be a bit lighter adding to the ease of movement. The lug soles did really well, in the water crossing rocky streams and climbing up the bank on the other side. I didnt slip with them on. The latteral movement in the foot was nice too. Sidehilling wasnt impossible. I have worn these now for about 18 days. I probably have crossed 35 streams, climbed about 8000 feet and walked about 50 miles in them. No blisters no leaks. I would buy a couple of pair of felt insoles for them though. One for wearing and one for drying out so you can always start each morning with a dry footbed, but that goes for any hip boot. All in all. I will probably get one more season out of these then I will buy another pair. Great Boot...even better....great price!
