When we put the name "Ultimate" on these hip boots, we made sure they were the most durable,
comfortable and affordable boots on the market. And now we've improved them even more by using a
specially formulated rubber that dramatically increases durability yet remains soft and flexible for
comfortable all-day wear. An air-bob outsole grabs the softest mud for a stable footing, while the
comfortable, contoured ankle fit cradles and supports your ankle for long days of walking and standing
on soft, unstable surfaces. This ankle-fit construction also prevents the boot from pulling loose when
trudging through the thickest mud. The upper skirt of the wader is backed with stretch nylon to
increase the comfort of the upper and make for easy on and off. And to ensure your waders fit as
snugly through the lower leg as they do in the ankle, a specialized calf harness with Velcro®
adjustment prevents any sagging or slippage. Uninsulated boot model for use in warm weather. Nylon
web belt strap with quick-release buckles. Imported.
Weight: 7 lbs./pair.
Men's whole sizes: 7-14.

Cabela's Ultimate Uninsulated Contour Hip Boot,October 26, 2009
By kstmbuildfrom New Hampshire
"I purchased these boots primarily for a hunting trip in Alaska. Got to use them a few times at home fishing before the trip and they seemed to work out pretty well. These boots survived a 2 week horseback hunt in the Alaska Range. The simple fact that they survived and remained waterproof earned them 5 stars. While riding the willows were constantly trying to rip you off the horse or rip the boots off your feet. This country is extremely rough on your footwear. That being said these boots offer no more or less support than any other hip boot. The Alaskan outfitters would advocate that you bring nothing but hip boots when in fact there is a very small portion of the time that you actually need hip boots. I honestly believe they have all been using them for so long they have just forgotten how well a real hunting boot supports your foot and ankle."

Crackin Boots,September 24, 2008
By BryanOHfrom Collins, OH
"I used my pair in the Brookes Range, Alaska this hunting season. The boots seemed a little dry when I pulled them out of the box. It turned out I was correct, they started cracking on our first hunt. There is nothing like wet feet in the Artic Circle for two months. I am sending them back. They were comfortable, but I got a lemon pair. Another guide had the same pair of boots which lasted him 4 seasons. If you plan on buying a pair, inspect them before depending on them."

better than anticipated,January 7, 2008

"These waders are very nice. They are cleverly constructed so that the finger pulls inside the boot make entering so easy. The heel has the bootjack lip to make it easy to get them off. They have good treads on the sole to prevent slipping. And, they are comfortable."

contour hip boots,November 20, 2006
By realoutdoorsmanfrom Iowa
"I live in your hip boots from November to April, trapping. The first pair that I purchased from you made it 3 years with heavy abuse and finally got a small hole in the bend of my foot. So I purchased another pair because I always have two pair on hand and I took the old pair with the small hole and use that now for my mud boots around home and turkey hunting, I can walk all day in these boots up and down the creek banks or across the fields and never get tired in them they also have great ankle support. I'll never own any other brand of boots, as long as you make these...they are the ultimate."

So far, so good.,November 13, 2006
By Longboatmoosehunter
"I am a retired Alaskan biologist and have worn out a lot of pairs of hipboots. When I am moose hunting, I put the boots on in the morning and often don't take them off until well after dark. The only concession I make to the boot is to ensure that it is near heat at night (until the fire in the camp stove goes out) so it is completely dry inside every morning.
I have worn this pair of boots through part of one summer and a moose season, but my son has an identical pair that is through their second season.
Comfort is good and traction is excellent, and all of the features of the boots work well. The lug on the heel to help push the boot off of a cold, damp foot at the end of the day is a big, sturdy thing. Ankle-fit boots come off hard. Don't ever compromise on that lug and its attachment.
The foot material is tough and it resists sharp beaver sticks.
They are pretty quiet in the brush.
I don't mind wearing out hipboots, but one thing I won't tolerate is to spend between $60 and $100 on a pair to see them crack and fall apart before I have worn them out with honest wear and tear. I wore a particular well known brand for 15 years. The second to last pair I bought went to pieces during the winter, hanging in cool, dry shadows in the garage. I couldn't believe it and bought another pair. Same thing. They had changed the formula. I bought another well-known brand, and the seams along the foot didn't hold up to the stress of putting them on taking them off. I was gooping and duct taping them halfway through the moose hunt. My son had good luck the first year with the Cabela's boots, and I liked the looks of them, so I ordered a pair last summer. So far, I see no degradation in my boots, but more importantly none in my son's, which are a year older. Don't let anyone run a batch of counterfeit material in on you.
The only problem is that the fabric inner liner that wraps around the heel from about the middle of the foot wasn't glued all the way to the end of the material in one of the boots. It started hanging up on my socks and peeling back incrementally as I took the boot off each evening. I dried the boot out and glued the loose flap back down with goop. Kind of hard to get the goop in there nicely working down inside of the boot, but it is holding.
It appears that the boots are going to last, and are a very good value for the price."
