The Scientific Anglers Mastery Trout Series of fly lines excel at performing the duties of traditional trout presentations. With the weight forward model you'll be able to tackle trout on big water, and punch your casts through stiff winds. Short casts and small water work can also be accomplished with this line making it extremely versatile. Built with line characteristics specifically geared toward handling casts and mends associated with trout fishing. Advanced Shooting Technology "dry-slick" coating process makes them float high, shoot farther and resist picking up dirt and grime. Low memory all but eliminates line coil ensuring your line rolls out the way it was meant to every time.

"In reality the only reason I gave the Mastery Trout Fly line a four ratting is the fact that I am still old fashioned and still use a nail not as my primary connection to the butt section. Since I could not give it a four and a half ratting it ended up with a four. Cast great, floats great what more could you want from fly line, occasionally when I get lucky with my double haul I can cast 90 feet with this four weight line with a four weight rod right handed. But then I have been casting for 48 year and I have no problem casting 90 plus feet left or right handed forward or backward with a five weight, weight forward with a five weight rod."

No good,July 18, 2009
By RainbowTroutfrom Washington
"This line cracked at the end of the welded loop. I returned it thinking it was a fluke but the new line did the same thing. I figure it was a bad batch of line at cabelas. I decided to get a different line altogether and that one worked."

SA Trout, One of my Favorites!,June 29, 2009
By Zugbugzfrom Avondale, AZ
"I have the 4 weight size. It's a great fly line for moderate or medium-fast fly rods. I use this line with a Sage ZXL 480-4 and it's a perfect combination. This line loads quickly near or far and has has never let me down in the tough conditions you often encounter here in Arizona. It casts great, floats high, and shoots accurately and effortlessly. Highly recommended!"

"Was impressed at first but not for long. It didn't take long before the floating aspect gave way and it sank. Then several yards down it decided to separate from the core and peel."

Still my favorite!,March 16, 2008
By drummin1from Ft Collins, CO
"I love this line along with the SA GPX series. For me they just feel and cast better than other lines. I haven't tried everything out there, but most of the big brands, and Sci Angler is what I always go back to. It's great stuff, low memory, easy casting but still light and delicate when needed. You really can't go wrong with this rope."

Fly line,November 29, 2006
By Peacemaker
"This is a high quality line but the 5 wt line didn't match up well with my 5 wt Sage rod. One or the other is mislabeled. Otherwise the line flexible and floats well."
