    Sturdy, January 30, 2010
    By JoeSp from Georgetown, Massachusetts

"I've used these broadheads for years but have switched to grim reapers. I love how sturdy and well put together the spitfires are but I've had the same problem twice with them now. Maybe it was just the angle being high up in the tree stand but I've had my arrow redirect after hitting a deer. I think with angled shots the closed blade hit the deer before the tip causing the arrow to redirect. The griim reapers have a tip that extends past the closed blades and I haven't had this problem with them yet. I'll bet the cut-on-contact tipped spitfires are better with this but haven't tried them yet. Also, with my quick-e-quiver, the spitfires won't stay tight and rattle around."

    Great Broadhead, January 19, 2010
    By Mechanic1953

"Not only is this the first time I used this broadhead. This is my first time using a crossbow. I was compleatly satifide with the experience. The bolt entered the doe behind right shoulder and came out behind the left at twenty five yards. The in and out going wounds were about the size of a quater. There was not much left of the herat and lungs. This product has great stoping power."

NAP Spitfire 3-Blade Mechanical Broadheads, December 20, 2009
    By TexMPG from Virginia

"I started using these broadheads this season and had the opportunity to take several whitetail deer with them. I was very impressed. Penetration was excellent - I got pass-throughs each time and every kill was quick and clean with an easy to follow blood trail. I used the practice blades to confirm the point of impact was the same as my field tips (it was) and replacement blades after each shot in the field. Great system."

    Nothing better, December 8, 2009
    By BigBuck7777 from MD

"Forget all the hype about all the new broadheads out there and stick with original and the best mechanical produced. I am a professional hunter and deer manager, and I personally harvest 20+ deer per year. I have used spitfires for over ten years now, and they have never failed me. I have taken every shot angle imaginable and never had a problem. This year I made my longest shot ever at 53 yards on a whitetail, got great penetration, and blood trail. If you want massive wounds and great blood trails, spitfire is where it's at."

Very Nice Broadhead, December 1, 2009
    By Zatch08 from Pa

"Bought these a year ago for archery had a 2 blade mechanical that needed a rubber band to keep blades in place. Love the new spitfire they just snap into place. Got my buck this year from 30 yard and hit far back on the deer but at a good angle and ended up hitting him in the heart. The blood trail was great buck only ran 20 yards from were i shot him. Going to use these for now on they are very nice broad heads."

    100 grain Spitfire, October 27, 2009
    By nepaguy from Stroudsburg PA

"Fly like field tips and cut like a scalpels. I'm very impressed, used thunder heads for years but didn't have time to tune the way I needed to this season. The spitfires filled the cap nicely. Took a big doe with them had full blade deployment and a pass threw at 22 yards drawing 52 pounds(shoulder surgery) blood trail a blind man could have followed. Thanks NAP"

Tracer cross bow bolts, October 27, 2009
    By Lennypoto from Logan Ohio

"I was generally happy with the product. One of the 3 arrows did not work but I called customer service and they appropriately credited me the value of it. The nocks seemed very bright and will be helpful in seeing where they hit and in finding a lost arrow. I have not shot one at a deer yet but look forward to its performance."

    Very Impressed, October 7, 2009
    By ThePittsburgArcheryKid from Pittsburgh, PA

    "Hi All,

I never did believe in mechanical broadheads. I have used NAP thunderhead 100 gr for the past 10 years and always loved them. This year i bought them and they were horrible so i called NAP to complain and they sent me a set of these spitfire mechanical. These shot exactly like a field point does. I shot at a 12 point 2 days ago and the arrow went right over its back. It was my mistake of yardage. Last night I used the same arrow I shot the night before that was open and stuck in the dirt and grass. It worked perfect. I hit the deer in the front shoulder my arrow went about 10 inches in and he kicked it out. When i found my arrow the blades were closed but by the feel of the whole they did expand. The deer went 70 yards and crashed. I will continue on using this product and recommend this to all. I put a bad shot on the deer and still dropped it in 70 yards. This is truly an amazing broadhead. The buck was a mature 8 point with a 18 inch spreed and weighed 182lbs. I would not shot any other mechanical broadhead.

NAP Spitfire 3-Blade Mechanical Broadheads, September 30, 2009
    By Leroy811 from Hale, MO.

"I have used the Spitfire 3-blade mechanical broadheads for the past 5 years. I have never had one that didn't fully open and they make clean 1-1/2" cuts clear through causing immense damage to the vitals. I have taken 7 whitetails using these broadheads and the farthest any of them went was 70 yards! The Spitfires don't seem to affect the accuracy and because they are mechanical, you don't have to worry about those little bands to keep them closed during flight. I highly recommend the NAP Spitfire 3-blade Mechanical Broadheads to anyone that is thinking about going to a mechanical style broadhead! Give them a test flight today!"

NAP Spitfire 3-Balde Mechanical Broadheads, September 30, 2009
By Bozeman from Prospect Park, Pa.

"I always used NAP thunderheads when elk hunting. I only draw 55 pounds but never had penetration problems with the thunderheads. This past week I shot an elk at 25 yards had fairly good placement but did not get the elk. There was poor penetration and the arrow fell out after the elk traveled about 25 yards. Never left a bloodtrail. These may be good on deer but I'll never use them on elk again. Maybe my low draw weight was the issue. Guess I'll never find out!"

    Stay away, September 20, 2009
    By DRI

"I've seen 2 elk shot with this broadhead in the last week. Both shots under 20 yards with good placement by experienced archers. Both got about 16" of penetration.
I don't think either broadhead opened. Both arrows quickly fell out and the broadheads were closed.
One of the archers had killed several animals with this broadhead previously, including elk.
None of us will use this broadhead again.

    I'm glad I used a gift card, September 18, 2009
    By lovethehunt

"I was sighting my bow using the Spitfire. I have a Black Hole target set up in my back yard, at 10 yards they blew through the target, at 20 yards the blades didn't open up, and it went about 3 inches out the back of the target. I have my bow set at a 70lb draw weight, That arrow should've smoked through that target. Maybe I got 3 bad broadheads, but I wasn't happy. Hopefully you all have great luck with them. Good Luck"

    Bone-Crushing SpitFires, September 14, 2009
    By BowLover08 from Southern Wisconsin

"I love my SpitFires: I can attest that they have bone-crushing strength! I made a quick, but poor, shot on a buck: I can admit that, but still he only went 35yds because the SpitFires held together and aided in crushing BOTH femurs and severing BOTH femoral arteries. How many other broad heads can claim that kind of performance? They shoot so precisely like my field points, I have taken 2 coyotes with them as well: at 15 and 30yds. A coyote chest: now that's a small target!"

Super accurate, but still on the fence, September 1, 2009
    By RyanofTexas from Texas

"I purchased these last year and used them with my Parker Legend XP bow. The accuracy is honestly unmatched for any mechanical out there. The blades were reasonably sharp out of the box and during practice, always expanded upon impact.

I watched a bruiser of a buck come down the field edge, which looked like he had a mesquite tree attached to his head. I checked my ranges with my range finder, and waited. He was at the 30 yard marker and gave me a fantastic broad side shot. The arrow struck him high in the shoulder, which made a loud thump upon impact. About 3/4 of my arrow was sticking out as he turned and fled. He ran about 40 yards, into a thicket, and laid down.

As I sat there waiting, to my horror he got back up, jumped a fence, and ran down to the creek bottom. Never found a bit of blood, and never found him. Three of us searched the area until 10PM, and came up with nothing.

The next morning, same location, three does came in. I lined up another shot (still using the Spitfire), and had a clear pass through. She ran maybe 30 yards before going down.

So, the jury is still out. I still hear great things, but perhaps it was one of those flukes, but why did it have to be on that monster. Now, to be fair,I was using my Legend XP, which shoots about 258 FPS on a good day. Was it the speed of the bow? Was it a mechanical failure? Was it just a bad shot? Could be any one or all of those. This year I'm using a Mathews Monster and giving them another try.

    Spitfires, August 19, 2009
    By whackmaster01 from Eastern Iowa

"I've used both regular 3-blade Spitfires and 3-blade Spitfire XP's and have watched every deer I've shot fall within sight of my stand (I used to be a Muzzy guy). Last year, I tried Rage broadheads and was even more impressed. The one major difference is the entry wound - with Rage expandables, the entry AND exit wounds are huge and with Spitfires the entry isn't as quite as devastating as the exit. Either way, both are awesome broadheads, and now I see there's a new Spitfire with a 1 3/4 inch cutting diameter! You send that broadhead through both lungs and I'll guarantee you'll watch that deer die!"
