    Quality, October 4, 2009
By kjsakhfksdhlkah from i don't know, United states

"Overall the quality of the broadhead looks good. the spiral blades look like they would help the accuracy (like the spiraled barrel of a rifle or slug gun), the broadheads do fly very well i thought. Everything looked as though i would have a successful hunt if i could get a decent shot at a deer. I in fact did get a shot at one from 25 yards. It went down right away and as i walked up to the deer i realized i had shot it in the front shoulder blade. The arrow didnt get but 4 inches for penetration with a 62 lb bow (295 fps). Granted i shot it in the shoulder blade i thot that it still should have penetrated a little better than that. I pulled the arrow out and to my surprise, the broadhead had broken...the blades were missing and the spiral tip had been shattered. Overall i think the quality is a little misleading...didnt appreciate losing an expensive broadhead because of the quality. I would still recommend the broadhead because of accuracy....but stay away from bone shots (doesnt work too well)"

They sounded good!, September 16, 2009
    By Bowd from Newport, NH

"It sounds like a good idea doesn't it? The twisted blades cause the arrow to spin and keep accuracy! They don't work. At 30 yards arrows tipped with these heads shot consistently wide left for me, up to a foot or more. I put field points on the same arrows and shot fine. I'm going to buy different broadheads! On the brighter side these heads seemed pretty tough. After shooting wide left about six times, they pulled out of the ground with no damage!"

Crimson Talon Broadheads, September 10, 2009
    By Sam106 from Southeast Texas

"These broadheads were purchased to be used in my "pop up" ground as I have been told that the fixed blades work better than mechanical when shot through the "shoot through" windows. Additionally, I have seen the damage wrought by these wicked little broadheads. Awesome. Can't wait to hear the Thwack from my own bow!"

    great trails, December 28, 2008
    By UncleTom from Boston, MA

"switched to these after bad experience (poor penetration, deflection) with mechanicals (spitfires). I have shot 12 deer with these and have had pass throughs almost always with great blood trails. Breaks ribs well, although I did get stuck on a breast bone on the way out once. On the positive side, the new blades are thicker and do not bend when pulling out of broadhead targets anymore. I have been able to sharpen and reuse blades. I have been comparing these to Thunderheads on the range (Mathews 70 lbs switchback) and they fly comparably consistent, but different impact than the field heads. On the negative side, the blades are dull out of the box. Due to the spiral blade they tear up the broadhead target much more that thunderheads when you pull them out. I have only been able to pull well out of targets that have horizontal layers, not vertical layers."

    junk, October 28, 2008
    By bucksRruttin

"this is the absolute worst broad head i have ever used! they work fine if your shot is absolutely perfect. if you hit an animal in the shoulder blade you do not get good penetration it does not "screw" threw bone like it says."

    By cowboyup45 from Rockland,ID

"All i can says is WOW!!! what a broadhead i shot a deer last fall at 35 yards it had a clean pass and the deer ran 10 yards and fail over the only negative that I was able to see was that the blades are not very sharp right out of the box"

    Devistating Damage, November 18, 2007
    By InHoc from Ohio

    "1. I shoot a crossbow
    2. I sit on the ground behind a ground blind (not a pop-up)
    3. I had no problem sighting these heads in as they fly true as fieldpoints. Very minimal adjustment to the scope.
    4. They fly fast & true.
    5. The only negative that I was able to see was that the blades are not very sharp right out of the box. I had to use my sharpener and put a good edge on the blades.

I shot a very nice doe this past weekend and this deer walked in at about 35-40 yards and was quartering away. I had a clear shot and an excelent hit. The bolt entered behind the left shoulder and exited thru the paddle bone (right sholder). The blade cut a devistating hole thru the deer and blew thru the paddle bone without any problems (clean pass threw). The hole was cut so wide that I had two blood trails to follow as blood was sqirting out both sides of the deer. The deer only ran 15 yards laid down and died. The hole was big enough to stick three of my fat fingers in it. I will stick with these broadheads because I have never seen devistating damage like this before.

Crimson Talon Broadhead, November 12, 2007
    By daveBow from Southeastern PA

"Great broadhead. They fly great and do unbelievable damage that I like for a quick kill even when I didn't make a perfect shot. I hope this is not too graphic but I killed a doe in the early season she ran about 40yds after the pass thru shot and she lost most of her intestines out of the exit wound."

    Awesome Broadheads, October 17, 2007
    By MichaelT from Tennessee

"These broadheads are quite simply the best I have used, mechanical or fixed blades. They fly true and leave devastating wound channels if shot placement is on. Pass through shots, clear blood trails and definitive exit wounds are obtained. This is a top notch product."

Axis deer hunt, September 24, 2007
    By Circus from Texas

"I went on an Axis deer hunt recently using this broad head. I shot an Axis doe first. A good heart shot through the back side paddle of the shoulder. The arrow passed all the way through the body. I was on a meat hunt and was given permission to shoot a two year old management buck the next morning. The deer was completely broadside but started to turn his body toward me as I released the arrow. (I was at 23 yards pulling 68 lbs. and my arrow speed runs at 282 fps. ) The broad head landed just where it should have. I suppose the bend in the body caused more resistance for the broad head but shouldn't it have still gone through? Only about a 1/4 of my arrow penetrated the body cavity. This deer ran hard. There is more to the story but I sure expected this broad head to penetrate better. Should I be using a different broad head for animals with a more hearty reputation?"

    my findings, August 7, 2007
    By fordhunter from zephyrhills,Fl

"I first bought the crimson talon xt broadhead because I basiclly thought it looked cool, little did I know how deadly they were. I don't have much to compare it to because I made my first bow kill using them. I had shot several wild hogs and deer with a rifle before getting my first bow kill and my animals have always ran about one hundred yards before going down so I'm thinking at least the same or farther for a bow, not the case at all. My first bow kill was a wild hog and everybody that hunts hogs knows how tough they are but I was using a crimson talon xt. This hog came in and I was in a treestand and he came right in to me and I drew back and made the shot it went in right behind the front sholder and came out through his neck and let me tell you it knocked him on his butt, he got back up and made it maybe fifteen yards and he was done. I couldn't believe my eyes no tracking no nothing he was right there. from that day forward I'm a believer, I've taken three deer since that day, all with the xt and none of them have gone more than thirty yards before going down. I just bought a crossbow this year because I broke both of my wrists in a motorcycle accident last year but I am 100% sure the new hyperspeed xt will preform as well or better than its brother the xt. As long as they make these broadheads I will be buying them and you can take that to the bank."

    Hyperspeed Broadheads, November 28, 2006
    By Bobmilek from Thermopolis, WY

"I used the Crimson Talon Hyperspeed Broadheads, 125 grain, to harvest a bull elk with a crossbow this fall. This was the first time I've ever hunted with a bow of any kind.

Accuracy on targets was good, but not as good as with target points. This was partly due, I'm sure, to my inexperience. Due to this fact, I felt that I needed to limit my shots to 40 yards or less.

The bull I harvested was at 35 yards. The broadhead passed through both lungs and exited to far side, and I heard it glance off a rock on the far side. I never did recover the bolt and broadhead. The bull walked approximately 30 yards before laying down and dying.

Overall, I was very happy with the performance of this broadhead. The biggest drawback I found was the difficulty in extracting the broadhead from the target when sighting in. I ruined one broadhead in the process, breaking a vane. Aside from this, I was very pleased.

By bowsniper1 from ex-marine 3-d shooter and hunter from New Mexico

"The crimson talon hype-speed make holes that look like someone cored an apple. The two hogs I've shot have been 20 and 25 yards. Neither made it out of sight before going down. They both had large holes clear thru them. I haven't shot them very successfully over 40 yards on the range, although I haven't been able to keep them intact while shooting foam targets. If your not very careful the blades deform."

Not really impressed, November 7, 2006
    By ohiocrossbow from Ohio

"This is my first year using these. I heard good things and switched from Muzzy fixed blades to these. I've shot at two deer now this year @ about 20 yards and neither has passed through completely with my TenPoint ProFusion crossbow. Compared to the Muzzys these things apparantly do not penetrate very well. I will be switching back after such dissappointment. However, I will say they are extremely accurate."
