"Bought this broadhead last year and it hasnt let me down since. Its crazy accurate and consistent. I havent missed yet with it. the only problem is it doesnt shoot the same as a field point so you have to get a taget that allows you to shoot broadheads."

"It is all about shot placement, irregardless of what broadhead brand you use. I purchased these and was fortunate enough to take a 165 p&y with it. I will say that it does produce a large entry wound and does create a great hole, but the penetration is less than others that I have shot. With that said I am very pleased with this broadhead."

"Shot a doe at 28 yards. Complete pass through and awesome blood trail. Deer went @ 60 yards. Next Season shot a nice buck at 24 yards but a little back in midsection. Didn"t get a pass through but knocked deer down and broke arrow off. Buck got back up and left. After tracking blood trail that was great for 150 yards, closed, then opened when he jumped a road, lost the trail after another 150 yards. Lost buck and never found it over 1 1/2 miles away. Go figure. Blood trails are great when they are there."

    By northredneck from Alberta, Canada

"I like these broadheads. They stabilize my arrows very quickly and they leave a nasty wound channel. Last season, the deer I shot didn't go 30 yds before dropping dead. One of the best fixed blade broadheads out there. The only thing I wish they'd include is a broadhead wrench."

    very happy, July 17, 2009
    By huntfish247

"I bought these heads when i first started bow hunting and my brother inlaw bought the g5's we both were successful in our hunts except he had to track his down. The fist deer i ever killed with my bow was a small 7 point the arrow went in behind the ribs (hard quarter angle), it smashed through the sternum bone on its exit. The deer went down in sight about 20 yards away with a very solid and bright red blood trail leading the way. These heads are devestating"

sharpen before you hunt, July 16, 2009
    By jtownshooter from jerome ,idaho

"shoot each arrow at your target to check them, then sharpen with a G5 sharpener, then you wont have any excuses, practice with what you hunt with.these are super acurrate broadheads but they have to work with fletches that spin with and not against them.....works for me."

"These broadheads work great. They fly good with my setup and leave a good bloodtrail. Blades will break if they hit really heavy bone, but penetration is good and blade retention is adequate even if a part of the blade breaks or bends."

Flat, accurate, and deadly!, January 25, 2009
By Maverick3 from Hot Springs, AR

"My set-up: Matthews SQ2, 29" draw, set at 72 lbs, shooting 29.25" carbon express terminator hunter 6075s. I use the Crimson Talon 100gr head and get excellent results. I've used these broadheads for 5 years. The old blades did break easy, but the new ones are much more durable. I've killed 5 deer with the same head and only had to replace one of the blades. They are more difficult to resharpen than staright blades, but it can be done. I have had pass through shots on 13 of 14 deer. All shots were 20 yds or more. The only non-pass through shot was my fault. It was 31 yds and I pulled the shot. The arrow hit the deer right square in the most solid part of the shoulder bone (not the the thinner paddle bone). The shaft penetrated about 65% but not all the way through. I've shot several deer that were quartered away and the arrow exited through the paddle bone or the front of the chest cavity. So I have had no problems with penetration. These heads do not fly exactly like practice tips. With my set-up these heads actually fly flatter than practice tips, and therefore hit a little high at all ranges when my bow is sighted for practice tips. I predominately practice with old heads and blades these days; no practice tips. If you want a flat shooting, accurate braodhead that creates devastating wounds and great blood trails, this is the right broadhead."

    Awesome, December 9, 2008
    By firemanash from kentucky

"THE BEST BLADES IVE USED>I started bowhunting about 12 years ago. I started with resharpenable solid blades and they were awesome but I havnt been able to find the same ones since. Two years ago I thought I would give expandables a try cuase my step-brother always swore by them. I bought some very expensive gator two bades that I was very excited about, the design in the way they worked (rear deployment ) was very cool. Long story short I shot two does with them. The first I shot about 12 yards away, perfect shot, should have sliced the top of heart and both lungs. Waited 30 minutes, picked up my arrow (complete pass through) the arrow had absoluty no blood on it, i strand of hair and a little slimy membrane. No blood, never found her. Well i was doubting that blade after that, the next morning i was on the ground and there was a doe at about 8 yards that would not leave so i decided I would give it another chance. I shot her right through the side of the neck, perfect placement,( I know this is not my first choice of shot but it was what she was giving me for about 20 minutes) anyway i have done this before, cut the windpipe and artery just as lethal as double lung. Anyway, same deal the arrow had no blood on it and I saw that deer about 6 months later with a black spot on her neck, perfectly fine thankfully. THESE BLADES WERE HORRIBLE, DO NOT OPEN. I bought the Rage two blade and have found that if you hit a bone they dont work, other than that they fly great and cut a huge whole. But they are not reliable, you have to make a perfect shot, I usually do but Like to have some freedom in case I dont. The Crimson talons actually fly better than my feild tips. I guess the twisted blades screw the arrows through the air and hold it straight. Also the same on impact, these broadheads will actually pull the arrow through the deer. I Hit one in the shoulder last month and it went right through and embedded in the opposite shoulder and the deer went down like i shot it with a rifle. They remove from my 3-d target easier than feild tips. the best heads ever and they are inexpensive, Buy alot of them ."

    Crimson Rocks, November 30, 2008

"I had the fortunate oportunity to hunt wild boar in Tennessee for my bachelor party with all of my hunting buddies tagging along. I shot a 260 pound hog, and killed it with one shot using a 100 gr. Crimson Talon broadhead. I shoot a Hoyt Ultramag bow and have a twenty eight inch draw. The arrow punched through two rib bones and went right through the heart. Talk about a blood trail! I watched the hog walk about twenty feet and drop. I had used Rocky Mountain broadheads before, but will stick with the Crimson Talon."

"I purchased these broadheads for my past whitetail bowhunt. I shot a doe and the blood trail was impressive. Broadheads are very durable and fly exactly like my field tips. The reason I rate a four is beacuse the heads are extremely dull out of the box. - MUST be sharpened before hunt."

    a great design, October 5, 2008
    By 10PointerOnTheGround from Kellogg, IA

"Even though they say on the package that the blade design is good for aerodynamics, I found while shooting that the 3 bigger twisted blades also help with penetration, the arrow flies awesome and then when ever the arrow enters the animal, the blade's twist design basically tears up the organs, making more blood and a quicker death."

By fatony26 from someone from ohio WITH a spine

"I tried to throw in 3 stars but 5 was all it would let me do.
These heads are similar to a front wheel drive car with 600 bhp. IF you can get them to go, they will destroy anything they hit. The heads seem to take the arrow where ever they want it to go. The are very dull out of the box and could be sharpened with a dremel tool or maybe a chain file..... with a very steady hand

so far they r great., September 7, 2008
    By sawtoothscream from windsor,NY

"i use to own the original model and hated it with a passion because to was so cheesey and blades broke left and right. the one thing i loved was that perfect flight. so i saw that they redid it and had to buy a pack. now i have no complaints. they fly amazing and r very sharp and durable. and cheap price for 4 great heads. i will buy more and more. after my rage heads get used up. right now these r going to kill turkeys and maybe a doe. cant wait to try. only reason i give it a 4 is because i havent shot a animal yet to know how it will hold up."
