"20 years of service in the Army has taught me that the boot you wear makes all the difference. My first pair of Danners were actually a pair of Mountain Light 2 Hiking boots and that was all it took. Danner is proud of there products and the price shows but I have had that same pair of boots for 15 years and have put thousands of miles on them. About 3 years ago I got a pair of the Hoods as a gift form my wife and I couldn't be more happy. I'm lucky enough to live in Alaska and have used the Hoods on Moose, Caribou, and Sheep hunts and have had nothing but great results. If you are looking for a pair of hunting boots for the next 20 years these or one of the other high end Danner boots is your answer. Note: what ever kind of Danner you buy make sure they have the stitch down sole. The newer models with the glued on sole can't have a replacement sole installed."

"These boots are great. One of the most comfortable boots I have ever had out of the box, they had almost no break in time. The second week I had them I spent 9 hours in the back country looking for my trophy buck. No luck on the deer, but the boots kept me warm, dry and comfortable. I crossed several creeks and my feet stayed dry through them all. These boots are made in Portland, Oregon, so when you do finally wear out the sole or bust a stitch you can just send them back to the factory for a quick fix. Danner makes their own cleaner, conditioner and waterproofer, take care of your boots and they will take care of you."

"these boots are great, they are comfortable right out of the box. these Danner hood winter boots dont mess around, they are 100% water proof, they are not to heavy, they have good traction, and are very warm in winter. Just because these boots are called hood winter dosnt mean they are bad summer boots, they dont make your feet sweat wich is a great bonus since dear season in california is very hot. these boots are great they get a 100% approval reating from me."
