"I like the look, construction is good, and price is right. Great for hot weather but not waterproof. Unfortunately they are a little sloppy (loose fit) on my foot. Also the width and extra length of the sole makes me trip once in awhile. Guess I should pick up my feet...lol"

"Although they look to be fine, I will be returning these. They squeeze the top of my foot, like there is not enough room from the insole to the tongue for a regular foot to fit. I have never had this kind of thing happen with any other shoes..."

"This is an excellent boot for the price. I am a fan of the Clark Shoes Classic Line....the Dessert Boot and the Treker. The Cabela's version of the Dessert Boot is far and away a better boot than the Clark version. The Cabelas boot is lined, has a thicker leather and a more comfortable crepe sole. PLEASE DO NOT DISCOUNTINUE THIS BOOT!!!!!"

"These boots are great. They are very comfortable to wear and walk in all day. And they look great. The order process was easy and the delivery was prompt. I would buy them again and I would recommend them to my friends. The only reason I did not give the boots 5 stars is the color. They were supposed to be cocoa, which the pictures show as a medium brown. But in reality they were a light brown, more of a sand color."

"I do like the boots very much. It took me two times to get the correct size because they are men's boots and I am a woman. They were a bit stiffer than I expected but that has been ok. I wish I had instructions about making them waterproof. I do like the look of them with jeans and wish you would carry them for women"

"First the good: The shoe is basically well constructed with good quality leather both inside and out. The wide size is definitely wide, probably 3E-4E, and easily accommodates my 2E foot. The toe box is very roomy. If anything, fit runs a bit large (long in the toe). Now the not so good: Shoe has a very flat fit with no arch support at all. The inner sole is really cheap and should be replaced. It's a thick spongy foam pad with a sewn vinyl top that is virtually guaranteed to cause moisture problems. It is fully 3/8" thick at the heel, thinning to 1/4" forward of the arch. The fit out of the box is very tight across the arch, as noted by others, but a lot of this is because of the thick inner sole. I took a chance and pulled out the cheesy innersole replacing it with a good quality innersole and arch support. That solved the arch fit problem quite nicely for me, and I do have a somewhat tall arch. Be aware, though, that the inner sole is glued in and removing it will damage it (you will leave a bit of the foam behind) so you will be committing to keeping the shoes if you remove it. Bottom line: Once the inner sole was replaced, this is a nice shoe with good fit. I will reserve judgment on buying again until I see how they wear, but given quality of base construction I expect them to wear well. For a shoe in this price range I expect a quality, removable inner sole with at least some arch support. The inner sole provided is a real disappointment. Cabelas – how about an upgrade in quality here???"

"I had these pair of boots way back then (suede kind). When I saw Cabellas offering the same suede boots, I said to myself I have to get me a pair! It is the most comfortable pair of boots specially when you do a lot of travelling. It looks good with denim jeans to chino slacks. Very straight forward casual shoes. Dr. Indiana Jones wears the same boots. It's a "classic" a "must" have. Check them out."

"These are great looking and the leather felt great. They were just what I was looking for, I thought. However, if you have a high instep, ie the top of your foot is higher than most, these may not fit. I could barely get them on my feet with the laces completely undone, and fit like a too tight cowboy boot. The rest of the shoe was fine, just too tight on topEasy return policy, and they are on their way back."

"I liked the first pair (suede) so much that I ordered a second pair six months later. When I saw the smooth grain leather boots in the catalog I ordered them too. I really like these boots. They are comfortable and sturdy. I wear them summer and winter here in Florida. The crepe sole holds up surprisingly well. My first pair are a couple of years old now and feel like a pair of mocasins. I love these boots."
