Timeless classic and fantastic price,

"I have been looking for a good pair of Chukkas for about a month and they are either WAY overpriced (hundreds) or not the classic crepe and low rise deal I was looking for...I really did not think that it would be this hard...and then, enter Cabela's!
Not only did they have the classic look, the price could not be beat. I bought a pair in each color and could not be happier. They are extremely comfortable although they do require a day or two of break in...if you tie them too tight, the back of them will rub your leg...so the solution is a medium tie and a few days of break-in and you will wear them all of the time with NO issues.
I sprayed with them with some water repellent made for suede and have been wearing them daily with jeans and casual slacks. Love the look and they are really comfortable. Great bang for the buck!"

Cabela desert boot,

"These boots are very sturdy and high quality BUT there is a horizontal seam at the heel that rubs a blister on your heel in about 2 hours of wearing. You have to cover this seam with a layer or two of duct tape to make them wearable. Also the laces are too long. Probably will buy another pair anyway because I like the style and haven't had any since 1967."

"These boots are well made with quality materials and are very comfortable while providing support to the foot. I bought these for an upcoming trip to Europe where I will be doing a lot of walking. These shoes are a great value, particularly for the reduced price I paid. I also ordered the smooth leather boots as well, which were also a great purchase."

"I ordered two pair, one of each color. Feel good after a short break in period. Do have a problem with the sizing, as I said I ordered two pair of the same size, believe me, there is approximately a one half size difference in them. So be sure to try them on for size. I also had ordered a pair approximately a year ago and had the same issue with size. I still like the boots and wear them regularly and it is a good deal when you buy them at 50% off as I did."

Poor heel fit,

"The heel of the shoe is not formed like any other boot or shoe it is almost strait up and down and it rubs a blister on my heel. I do try and wear them for short periods of time to break them in or toughen my foot, what ever comes first. I would not buy another pair."

Better than Clark's Classic Desert Boot,

"This is a superior shoe compared to the Clark's desert boot. I have gone through a couple of pairs of the Clark's in the last year and a half, and I can honestly say that the Cabela's Classic Crepe boot is a much better made shoe. The Clark's desert boot is a loose fitting affair with much lighter suede leather than the Cabela's Crepe Boot. The Clark's Desert boot does not really lace up tight on your foot, so it slides around on your heal and has no arch support at all. In contrast, the Cabela's Classic Crepe Suede Boot has good arch support and laces up tight for good ankle support. The Clark's Classic Desert boot is like wearing a pair of slippers, while the Cabela's Classic Crepe boot is a real walking boot with a snug fit, and all around good foot support. I have purchased my last Clark's desert boot; from now on I am a fan of the Cabela's version of this classic shoe."

"The boots, although hard to find else where, are rather pricey for imported construction. Would have been pleased had they not arrived with an embeded string of contact type glue across the toe. Efforts to remove this blemish only further marred the other wise handsome appearance before they ever made the door. Will watch for a sale and hope for better luck & quality control before ordering another pair. A bit weary & leary at this juncture."
