"If you drive a pick up as I do, you CANNOT be without this product. It keeps multiple fly rods safe and secure while you move from place to place. I have the suction cup/mag unit. Works great, works easily and stays secure. The BEST for what it is!"

Professor Bodkin Onstream Rod Carriers,
July 1, 2009
By ricflyfish
from SoCal, a fly fisherman who drifts in Montana
|
"I recently used them for the first time on my trip to the Bighorn in Montana. They functioned well. Rods remained secure during driving from boat launch back to camp. The clamp-down hood carrier, however, did leave circular scratches on the hood that did not come off with simple washing and waxing. I had my local detail guy remove them by rubbing out the finish in that area. The magnetic roof carrier did not leave any marks. A long as the above conditions remain or improve, I will be satisfied. That is, better some removable marks on my hood rather than reduced fishing time or permanent scratches on my rods that remained rigged up in the boat while traveling back and forth. Now, I just have to convince my brother to use them on his new Chevy Silverado on the next trip to the 'horn in three weeks."

Professor Bodkin onstream Rod Carrier,
November 6, 2007
By Garythesteelheader
from Roseburg, Oregon
|
"This thing works great! I live on the North Umpqua River in Oregon and was getting tired of breaking down the flyrods just to move to the next turnout along the road to fish the next run. The holders stay put while driving and the rods go on and off in less than 20 seconds. I take the holders off and put them on the front seat when I'm away from the car so they are secure. You will not be dissapointed."

Rod carriers, I find the better one!,
June 21, 2007
By destinationmirage
from Quebec, Canada

"I'm a guide on Bonaventure and Matane rivers in Quebec and i always try to find a secure rod carrier for tranporting the rod of my customer betwen each pool. This mechanism is aesy to use, very stiff and secure, not permanent system and ready to accept 4 rods . I let the protective neoprene pocket on a reell and we are ready to fishing right when we arrive at the pool. That's the best i find...

Bodkin rod carrier,

By andy001
from Birmingham Al . used carrier in Wyoming

"I used on several day fishing trip where driving distance was only a few miles. Saved lots of time not having to break down rods. Very pleased with the Bodkin. Dirt roads, 0f course. The only disadvantage to the carrier is the reels can get a little dusty. Otherwise 5 star."

rod carrier works great!,
November 10, 2006
By poudretrout

"I've use a professor bodkin magnetic/vacuum car top rod carrier for several years now and find it an indespensible piece of equipment. I fish several streams right near town and all I have to do is put on my rod (or rods if a buddy is going with me) on the carrier and we are off. If we need to change fishing locations on stream, it's really easy. Just strap on the rods to the carrier and drive to the next riffle. These units are well made and have never given me a speck of trouble. The vac unit holds like glue (I wet the pads before putting them on) and the powerful magnet base has never scratched by car because I roll the units on and off.
I really like the idea and the product-everyone that lives near a stream or lake or beach should get these rod carriers!"

Bodkin Onstream Rod carriers,
November 7, 2006
By johann
from Iceland
|
"Im a professional river guide for North Atlantic salmon in Iceland. I bought your product last year and I am a bit dissapointed
1. The rubbers or the elastics that hold the rods down are not fixed to the holders and therefore get lost if you forget to fasten them after you remove rods. Strong wind can also easily blow them away.
2. I would prefer both holders to be Vacum the vacum holder is very good but the magnetic one damaged the paint-job and is also unreliable when driving in heavy off-road areas can and will fall off. (also wont work on Aluminium bodies.)
3. Good thing about the holders is that the T arm has good space takes 4 big rods easy. rgds joi"
