Scotty Downrigger releases.,

"These are nice releases and grip well. I had one that the cable clamp fell off as I was getting it out of the package. Fortunately it fell to the floor of the boat and I was able to retrieve it and put it back and clamp it with pliers. It evidently was a quality control problem, because it had never been clampled to begin with. The others were ok. I would have given 5 stars if not for that problem."

"I never used a downrigger before and bought this for my vacation to use fishing for lakers. I was very pleased with the performance of it, I never had a false release even bouncing the rigger ball off the bottom a few times."

"These releases work well. They seem tough and durable.The only thing that I would like to see improved would be to make them float. I have a few at the bottom of Grant lake because I made a mistake when securing them to the down rigger cable."

"Scotty releases work great for running flashers + flies/cutbait for salmon on Lake Ontario. They have enough tension to really load the downrigger rods. I troll with the rod tips almost touching the water, which greatly improves hookups. Other types of releases can false trip in heavy currents."
