Beat the thirst for water.,

"Hunting, camping, fishing, or hiking, I have used this new "man toy" and found it very useful. Water taste like bottled water. Easy to use. Nearly weightless. Can quickly fill your water bottle or "bag." The only thing I have a complaint is you can pinch your hand or finger if not watching when you are pumping the device."

"The Katadyn Hiker Pro Water Microfilter worked great until the filter started loading up as I was on a backpacking trip. Then it became difficult to pump and the handle ultimately broke off rendering it useless. I wish the handle was stronger, and I hope I can get a replacement when I get a new filter cartridge. I was out for four days with 6 people and it worked well for at least the first three days, only giving us trouble the last 24 hours."

"We want to be prepared for any emergency that may come along, after watching the terror of Hurricane Katrina and the Tsunami of a few years ago we were incouraged to prepare a emergency kit. The kit should have three gallons of water per person, we have five people in our family, so a water filter seemed to be the best option. So now we feel more secure knowing that in a pinch we can go to our creek and have drinkable water. :)"

"I received the Hiker pro recently and found it to be a very simple and efficient product. Very straight forward to use with nothing to go wrong or incorrectly attach. Water production was much quicker than expected and is easily accomplished on a short break. Much easier to take a few miutes to obtain water on the trail than to haul the weight of extra water as I frequently have before."

"My hunting partners and I went 20 miles into camp. This water filter was an essential part of this trip. Being able to get more water at any time made it possible for all three of us. "used this filter on two weekend trips, i was pumping from a relatively clean stream and the cartridge didn't last even 5 gallons, it's supposed to last 200. other than that, it's small and light and not bad"

"This filter comes with it's own bag which fits nicely in my pack. There is a seperate waterproof bag for the intake hose and filter to keep it from becoming contaminated. It comes with things to clean the filter in the field and its easy to use. It does take two hands to pump though."

"I use my filter to recharge my hydration bladder inside of my fly fishing vest every time I go fishing. As I live and fish in Arizona, hydration is a high demand for me. This makes it so much nicer because I don't need to pack an entire day's worth of water with me, nor do I have to go back to the truck every time I get thirsty. Great investment"

"The summer and fall of 2006 were extremely dry in northern British Columbia, Canada. On a two week elk hunt this fall I relied daily on my Hiker Pro Microfilter. It was used to gather water for early morning coffee, as well as to fill my hydration bladder. Daily hike distances were in the 6-10 mile range and re-fills using dirty still water were often the only choice. This product insured I enjoyed this trip without getting ill from water-born bacteria which allowed me to harvest my elk of a lifetime which scored a modest 319."

"My hunting partner and I used the Katadyn Pro to supply potable water during a 10 day elk hunt in the Rocky Mountains. We pumped water directly from streams and springs into a pack mounted water bladders and camp containers and the unit performed flawlessly throughout.
I disassembled, inspected and cleaned the unit after five days of operation and upon returning home and found that the routine maintenance was quickly and easily accomplished.
The device was easily packed and carried. However, the nylon storage container that comes with the unit could be somewhat larger.
The Katadyn enabled us to hunt locations that would have been difficult or impossible if we had packed all our water in with us. I am very glad that we decided to take the unit on the hunt. I highly recommend it."

"This filter is extraordinarily simple to use and impressively fast. It is feature packed and priced very reasonably. The included adapters make it easy to refill most common types of water containers, leaving your hands free to run the pump and not have to hold onto the container. It is also very lightweight, packing neatly into the included nylon pouch. IT's a bit bulkier than some of the other microfilters on the market, but makes use of its size to increase performance. I was absolutely amazed at how fast it filled my 3-liter Camelback. The filter also has no ill effects on the taste of the water. I now leave this microfilter in the top pouch of my backpack for a quick refill mid-hike, and I no longer have to worry about rationing or packing in heavy extra containers full of water."
