Bag falls thru,August 18, 2009
By WesMfrom Upstate New York
"Good sturdy design would give 4-5 star if bag would stay on the seat. Stand up and the bag falls thru - could be messy. A couple of large rubber bands fixed the problem."

Terrible,January 14, 2009
By lmm897from PA
"We bought these bags to use over our winterized toilet in our mountain home. Bags fit the toilet seat fine and didn't really have trouble with them slipping off, but every single one of them leakes. We used the bags a few days after purchasing them, so they were "fresh" out of the box. We also had trouble with many of them tearing in the wrong place, when trying to remove one bag from the roll. These bags are terrible. I am using the rest of them for disposing of cat litter. What a waste of money."

Nature Bio-Toilet,October 28, 2008
By Anonymousfrom Colorado, Rocky Mountains
"The Bio-Toilet worked great for our hunting camp. Set up was quick and easy. The bag did slip off the seat once, so after that we just used a couple pieces of tape to prevent it from happening again. It was a very sturdy seat to sit on. Everyone seemed to choose the Bio-Toilet instead of a trip to the woods with a shovel. Great product and it served it's purpose."

"Okay, it wasn't that big a deal for me but for my wife... If she's relucant to venture off into the woods or won't set foot on shore to take care of necessities, this is a lifesaver. Sturdy, steady, and as close to home as you'll get. Come on guys, spend the money. I give it a A+"

"The Nature Bio-Toilet resolved the "movement" hassle we all experienced during our wilderness trip. It was rated the #1 improvement in our camping group. Here-to-fore it was the old scrappy bark log. Had I only remembered to bring reading material!!"

Portable and Sturdy; Always check bags!,July 6, 2008
By IronwoodCountyBooksfrom Midwestern outdoorsman
"The bio-toilet is a handy camping product. It's very sturdy, folds almost flat, and sets up quickly (do follow directions!) The only problem I found is that the bags decay, even in storage. I had an unopened box with unopened bags. After a year in storage I could easily put a finger through the biodegradable plastic. I think it's great they are biodegradable; I wish the box had an expiration date on it! I still use them, but I just buy the freshest- looking box at Cabela's and I don't hold any leftover bags over to the next season."

GREAT camping toilet,May 27, 2008
By aBlaine
"This camping toilet should be on every camper's must-have list!
We tested it to 265 pounds of weight, and it was rock-solid. All one must do is remember to properly use the three bottom tabs and to press the toilet seat down 'till the tab on each side 'clicks', and I don't see how it could possibly fold, fall apart, or be shaky.
We used it for a 4-day camping event, inside a canvas tent, because I am handicapped and can't make it across the field to the porta-johns. A number of people, besides my family, used it because the porta-johns were so far. I am fairly certain that a few of those friends weigh significantly more than I do, and no one had a single problem with the toilet, but I know my own weight for absolute sure and can state it as 265 pounds.
People ranging from 72 years old to 5 years old used this toilet, and none had a single problem with it. The youngest to actually place the bio-bags on it by themselves were 7- and 8-year olds. Told once to draw the edges of the bag securely over all four corners - and not just the rounded raised 'seat' - each child, from age 7 and up, was able to it for him/her-self.
At night, since my disability is spinal and therefore also invloves bladder control issues, we made a single adaptation to the toilet "as is": Because I'm night-blind, we chose to leave one bag on the toilet so I didn't have to try to change the bag in the dark, so we took a cheap toilet seat lid (separated from the seat itself) and set it right over the toilet seat, to prevent an odor problem. It worked just fine. We were able to use the toilet repeatedly for urine that way, and the bags held 'till morning. There was no odor with the lid in place.
I have a hint for those who have any trouble getting up and down from the toilet (just a tad shorter than regular home toilet height) without assist bars or help: Use a 'walker' to assist in rising or sitting on this toilet.
I need a 'walker' just to walk more than a dozen or so steps, and I also cannot rise from a seated position without some sort of help (human or otherwise), so I took my 'walker', which has hand-hold grips at two different levels, one for walking and one for rising from seated position, and placed it around the rear of the toilet, so it wrapped around the sides and rear of the toilet. The side grips enabled me to sit and rise without human help (embarrassing) or handicap bars as found in physical bathrooms. In this position, I didn't even have to move the walker aside to get to and from the toilet, nor did it impact any able-bodied person from changing a thing to use the same toilet.
I recommend this toilet to every camper, every hiker/backpacker, and every person who might find the need to "answer the call of nature" out in the wilderness."

"The toilet itself works very well - strong and steady. The bags used for collection is way too fraigle. They will rip just pulling off the roll and will rip while placing in the toilet and pulling over the four corners of the seat..... Overall the toilet works great out-doors....."

No problems with the Nature Bio Toilet,October 26, 2007
By rtononfrom Orange County, CA
"I absolutely hate to have to "do my business" out in the bush, but this product makes the process much more civilized. It sets up in just a few seconds, it's light and it folds flat. It supported my 225 lbs with no problem, however, a couple of my 250+ lb buddies never got the chance to stress test it, so the 250 lb rating remains to be seen. I also did not have a problem gettin the bag to stay on the seat. It did try to slide off the corners initially, but once you sit on it it stays put, even after you make a deposit. I carry it in my truck bed for hunting, dirt bike riding or whatever. I'd rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it."

"I too experienced a problem with the bag slipping off, despite carefull attention to its attachment. I solved this problem by curring some notches in the frame, below the seat, and using large rubber bands to hold the open end of the bag in place. Works great!"

Excellent Product - No problem with bags here...,July 30, 2007
By Bullockfrom Denver, CO
"I purchased this toilet several months ago for our family camping trips and the week-long elk & muley trip every fall. After reading several reviews I was a bit concerned about the bags coming off, but that concern was quickly addressed after the first trip using the Bio-toilet. We had absolutely no problem with the bags coming off, and I'm really not sure how they would if they are pulled over each corner correctly.
Both solid and liquid waste are cleaned up easily by simply removing the bag, tying it, and disposing of it in a hole. This is really the best feature of the toilet in my opinion. When backcountry camping (like on fall hunts), I don't really want to pack out waste -- with the bio-toilet, as long as you purchase completely biodegradeable toilet paper (usually a few dollars for a pack of 2-4), you can simply dispose of the entire bag in a hole and not worry about finding it next year. This set-up is 100% biodegradeable.
I also read complaints about it not being sturdy. There are tabs on the bottom of each leg that connect to the opposite leg. I'm confident that the people who complained about this forget to connect these or didn't see them. As long as you do, it's sturdy as a rock. Believe me, I'm a big guy and it holds me just fine.
