Portable Rod Holders,

"We took the holders to northern Canada on a week long fishing trip. They fit the 16 ft fiberglass as advertized and functioned as well as we hoped. The only drawback is a fairly poorly constructed aluminum swivel back to the clamping portion of the device. But, for the price I couldn't have asked for more."

"Purchased 4 of these for use on a canoe and small fishing boat. After reading other reviews, I was very careful to tighten the clamps just enough to keep the rod holder from slipping, but all 4 have now broken. The plastic clamp is not sturdy enough."

Great rod holder for rental boats,

"This product works great and the clamps are easy to use on a V hull aluminum boat. If it has one drawback it is that the clamp doesn't accommodate the wider rails on a Jon boat at my local lake. other than that it is a great product. I now have 2 that I use at the lake regularly."

"I was a little wary of breaking the clamp so I almost lost it because I didn't tighten it enough. Once I got it tightened, it worked fine and I had no issues. Good product at a good price"

"The c-clamp is and excellent product. No drilling and no hassle installation. I works as it is supposed to and it is strong and will last a long time. Once again it is an excellent product and I recommend it for anyone with an aluminum boat or wooden etc. with narrow rails."

"My friend bought a few of these a while back, I used them on his boat and liked them so much that I outfitted my boat with them - these are much more rugged than most similar units - they are a little pricey but worth the extra $$$$"

"This was a present for my brother, he did not want to drill holes in his kayak. He uses his kayak for fishing and normal kayaking, so this worked great to adapt his kayak to a fishing machine. If you have a strictly fishing kayak I would go with the kind that bolts on but if you are into multi purpose yaking this wil work great."

"I purchased several of these to attach to the gun rail so my fishing buddy and I could have all the rods secured. To the point, One cannot tighten the clamp enough to handle medium to heavy tackle attached to fish over the 4-5lb. range or snags while drift fishing. The holder will move in the direction of the fish and we all know that is down. Talk about stomach in your throat moment. Always make sure the hoop is over your rod or that will be another expensive fish that got away. I had 2 clamps that have already broken this year from hard hits and constant tightening on the gun rail.
Overall I recommend the 360 rod holder, it's a solid holder. The hoop is tight when rotating to lock in the rod, but this definitely assures your rod is safe.
The C-Clamp needs a serious design improvement and I would not recommend it unless you can guarantee only small fish are biting and or using light tackle.
I am ordering permanent mounts for the 08' season."

"Clamp is very weak due to design. It snapped when my wife went to tighten them on the rail of the boat. I fixed them by tapping through the base and installing small 3 1/2" screws w/nuts and locking washers..
Rod holders are excellent."

"I used thew c-clamp mount with rod holder 2 times and the rod holders are great but the c-clamp needs to be made out of metal not plastic!!!!!!!!! they stress cracked on the base after just 2 times, very disappointed with these and would not recommend these until they make the bases out of metal...."
