"When getting these sheets keep in mind they have no lip and are smaller than actual tray. I think they are smaller than the metal tray to make sure the air can move not only through the center but also via the sides, this I think creates a more even dry. Rather than a design flaw it aids in drying.
As for the lack of a lip to contain your puree or sauce you should add a thickening agent, as one reviewer suggests - banana. I add honey while puree is warm or heated up then let chill and then spread on sheets. Absolutely no mess. Thin is important - 1/4" to 1/8" thick, use a butter knife (for example) because you want to make it as even as possible which gives you a consistent texture otherwise you get crunchy and chewy in one.
All in all, they are very useful, easy to clean and so far very durable. Only gave 4 stars because they are bit expensive and should be sold at a discount for 12, instead of just offering only 3."

"good fpr what we use them for ( drying small pieces of onions) I can see how an edge would be very helpfull. I would pay more for sheets with some type of thickened/raised edge."

"These are wonderful!!! They are very good quality and wash easily. I was surprised when I did blueberries that they didn't stain. My only complaint is that they don't cover the whole rack. You give up a little space when you use them. However -- I will be buying enough of them to use on all the shelves because the rack holes are too big for most things you dry."

Buy more than just 3 sheets,December 8, 2008

"Bought a pkg of 3 with my dehydrator, but wish I had bought more. Used once to test dehydrate tomatoe sauce, barbque sauce, ketchup and unsweetened applesauce. Remember to spread THIN. Tomatoe sauce dries faster than ketchup & barbque sauce. Barbque sauce takes longest due to amt of sugar content. Applesauce did real well, took longer than I expected still. Made a nice fruit roll-up without all of the sugar, etc. THIN is the key word. Making the ketchup & barbque sauce leathers works great for back packers to pack & rehydrate for meals. Will be ordering more fruit roll sheets."

"I found the Fruit Roll Sheets to be worthless. The inside & outside edges were not curled up, to prevent the mix from running off. My previous circluar dehydrator had that type of fuit roll sheets. So I am using them in my new dehydrator, although they are not as large as the new dehydrator could use."
