Tough Installation,September 30, 2008

"The installation took longer than I thought it would. I read reviews on other sites that said the instructions were bad..... and they were. Tip: Install the rails on the canister with them both OUT of the bed; then set them in. It will be easier. Also, the kit came with clamps for installation with the bed rail system and without it (on an 08 Toyota Tundra). Be sure you are using the correct clamps for your installation. I got in a hurry and thought that all the clamps were the same at first, until I figured out I had put two on that were wrong.
Also, this tonneau cover is not something that you can throw things on. It's a little stouter than a regular fabric cover, but not as stout as some of the others out there. Don't buy this if you intend on hauling things around on TOP of it. Pace Edwards doesn't claim you can do this, but I thought I'd mention it. It is "weaker" than I had originally thought.
The plus side is that it ended up fitting nicely and works good. It sits flush with the bed and unrolls easily. I don't yet know how well it keeps water out, but suspect it will leak a little bit; at least around the tailgate.
If I was going to look buyone again, I'd probably look long and hard at a Retrax for the amount of money I spent."

"I got this cover becuase I wanted a hard top but needed the flexability of a roll up cover up to get my 4 wheeler in the bed. I found the flexability I needed in this cover. My only complaints are that the rear of the cover moves up and down (Flexes) from the wind, when I'm driving.
I had the unfortunate problem of someone siting on the cover. I will warn everyone now, that it will not support any heavy weights. The cover will crush in. I was lucky that it didn't bend the aluminum panels much, and I was able to pop it back into place and have no problems with it functioning after.
It installed quickly and I was able to do it by myself. But you really need to follow the installation instructions to the "T."
