"Well made, sturdy, and fairly easy to install. (On a Silverado anyway) At 10" they look good mounted and are functional.
Just don't install them quite as far forward as the instructions call for."

"They look great installed but getting there was more difficult then I had anticipated.
Instructions were confusing and I work with my hands everyday reading blueprints for 35 years.
Give yourself the afternoon to complete this instalation."

confusing bracket design,

"I had high hopes for these Carr steps, as my Super Duty came with the ugliest running boards man has ever designed. After removing them and hearing the wife groan everytime she entered or exited my truck I ordered these, thinking I could live with the diminutive size and pleasing design. I read the instructions twice and took a step and its brackets out to my truck to see what holes I would have to drill, and where. According to the directions, the angled part of the brackets would touch- and be bolted up to- the underside of the truck near the pinchweld. I discovered that the angled part of the bracket would not touch anything, so a screw could not be installed there. That meant only one screw would be holding one whole side of the step to the body. Sounds pretty flimsy to me. I returned the steps to Cabelas without a hitch. Cabelas is GREAT to work with. It's really too bad the brackets are illdesigned."

The black powder coat came off,

"I have had these for 2 years and the black powder coat came off. I would not recommend them because even though the box states a limited lifetime warranty I'm stuck with pitted ugly steps. I would suggest buying the chrome if you do buy them."
