"AFTER INSTALLING THE AIR RIDE PEDESTAL I WENT FISHING ON THE GULF OF MEXICO, AND AFTER TWO TRIPS THE TOP BUSHING WAS WORN BAD ENOUGH TO MAKE THE SET
WOBBLY. UNLESS THE TOP BUSHING IS CHANGED TO ANOTHER MORE WEAR RESISTANT METERAL I WOULDN'T
RECOMMEND IT."

"Had a problem with the original base plastic center breaking. I purchased newly designed bases and the air ride pedestals. I've taken my brothers fishing on SF bay and had no problems on two trips. My brothers are both 6'4" and 300 + lbs. The extra pedestal height and air ride feature made it an enjoyable trip for all."

"all mine failed very quickly, they went red rusty within months. I bought a replacement cos mine kept dropping & the replacement drops right from new. Being in the uk returing it is costly & very time consuming. DONT BUY THIS PRODUCT they are rubbish."

"main complaint is the fit of pedestal in base is a little sloppy. I've had similar set-ups before with a much better fit.
One of my pedestals sticks down sometimes, I'll give some time and if it doesn't start working it will be returned."

"I'm more of a walleye and catfish guy, but I do find myself fishing for crappie quite often as well, and once in a great while, I'll throw for some bass. This pedestal is all I use for that! You can lean on this pedestal when you install your seat of choice, or you can sit on it, either way you want to go. It's very easy to maneuver and use, and I would recommend it to anyone. Very durable, you can count on this thing for years to come."

A New Tilt on Seat Mounting,

"The Springfield Air-Ride Pedestal gives me a good solid feel and stays in place thanks to the locking feature. The seat mount does have a slight tilt built in so the seat leans back slightly. Not a problem if your seat is of high quality construction such as marine plywood bottom. My seat has a molded plastic base, which bends and leans back too much for my liking with the built in tilt on the pedestal. I solved this by mounting the seat backwards on the pedestal, so the seat tilts alittle down on the front, which I found much more comfortable. I am using the pedestal in the bow position for fishing, so it is normally being used in a higher position that one would use while running at speed."
