LED Stern Light,
September 10, 2009
By Catalina22
from Central Texas
|
"Purchased primarily for use on 22-foot sailboat. Did not use the various securing devices, instead put the light in a short length of pvc pipe attached to stern rail. The light appears sturdily constructed. Testing with four fully charged rechargeable batteries, the light was still brightly illuminated after more than 12-hours. At that point the test was ended. This is more than adequate for its intended use."

"The bow light clamp broke on the first outing by a mangrove branch. The stern light was not LED as advertised. Also, the stern light clamp will not hold to the side of a canoe. Wish I had not bought two of each - they appear to be junk."

"Not only does it look stylish (camo pattern), but it is a sturdy, lazy-mans way out of wiring (or in my case rewiring) the bow of your boat for a bow light. Mine looked so impressive mounted on the bow of my carolina skiff that I considered leaving it on even after I pulled it out of the water."

"these lights are bigger than i thought and also much brighter. i bought them for duck hunting boat so i could take them off during hunt. the only drawback is they could be a little more sturdier, it says not to exceed 8 mph but who does 8 mph trying to get to their hunting spot?"

Lights on the Cache River,
December 16, 2008
By Rafbat
from Anna, IL
|
"I was looking for portable bow and stern lights for use on my canoe for duck hunting in southern Illinois. While it took quite some time to finally receive both the bow lights (one item back ordered), I am pleased with both products. The light quality is much better then with traditional portable lights, and I like that they came camoflaged. Only thing I would have liked to see improved upon was the sturdines of the stern light. However, the price was very attractive and both products will do nicely."

"Seemed like a good product. Used twice. Worked well when used. 2nd time mounting screw vibrated and fell out so lost the light. Product needs to be reviewed for usage again. Maybe larger bore hole for stronger screw or coated screw to prevent from happening again. Will not invest more money."

LED Bow & Stern Navigation Lights,
September 22, 2008
By Hemingway

"I have used these lights on my canoe and they are much brighter than the typical bulb lights that look similar but use the heavier "D" size batteries. The LED bulbs give off a more visible light when out on the water after dark. The mounting brackets are very adaptable to any type of watercraft."

"Overall, a decent product. Works great on small craft, mounting versatility and flexability a plus. Not thrilled about the camo pattern, looks like spray paint. I sanded mine down and repainted them with a plastic/vinyl dye to match the boat."

Portable LED Bow and Stern Navigation Lights - Cam,
July 21, 2008
By Anonymous

"I got busted last year to the tune of $120 for not having navigation lights on my 14' John boat. Wasn't going to ever let that happen again. I know, I know, I was an idiot for not having them. These lights are almost perfect. The only problem is that I have to create a mounting platform/device on the john boat so that they'll mount securely as they are meant for horizontal or perpendicular mounting and not for angled surfaces like on a john boat. Other than that, I love em. I thought the price was reasonable as well."

good product,

"I had a wiring problem on my boat just before the family came in for the 4th so, in a pinch, I ordered these clamp-on led lights. The bow light could be a little brighter. The stern light was fine. The clamps should be made a bit more sturdy and durable. Overall, not a bad deal though. Would definately serve as a good back-up system in the event of a wiring malfunction. I don't think I would depend on them for everyday use even though the units can be screwed or bolted on."

Nice and Bright,

"I recently used both the bow and the stern light, I was on the lake about 1/2 a mile out and I had the lights on. I used my radio to call back to camp to ask how good my friends could see me, they said clear as day. I then shut them off and went about 1/4 mile straight with my trolling motor and then asked them if they knew where I was, they said no. I then turned them on and they instantly saw me. These things worked great. They lasted all weekend on one set of batteries and I haven't went through the original set yet. Hope this was heplfull."

Portable led bow and stern nav lights -camo,
January 10, 2008
By barleydog07

"Installed on 14 foot jon boat for duck hunting. Lights seem to be very good quality. The angle of the bow of my jon boat didn't work with the clamps provided. I had to do a little drilling and modifying to get the bow light in place. The stern light installed easily and just one thumbscrew will raise or lower the stern light. Since most people buying the camo lights are most likely attaching to jon boats, the manufacturer could have designed a better clamp to fit the angle."

Portable LED bow light,
January 8, 2008
By phealy

"Product is well made. Works as I expected and looks to be durable after a dunking or two which brings me to my only complaint. The bow attachment needs to be fine tuned, it loosens during use and can come off unexpectedly on my boat style. That being said, I can't find a better bow system locally in northwestern Wisconsin."

"I use this in a kayak to waterfowl hunt. I needed something to make me visible when I am getting in to my spot in the morning or when leaving in the evening and this is just the ticket. The stern light is visible from a long way off and is easily stowable when I get set up."

portable bow and stern lights,
July 2, 2007
By Bundy
from Brisbane, Australia
|
"These lights are well sealed from water and the brackets are made of aluminium which allow a good grip where they are fixed to the boat. I really liked the the alternative bracket that comes with the stern light, it has a saddle clamp that goes around the pole and is held by a grub screw that screws against the pole which allows the light to be extended up when in use and down and out of the way when not. The lights are LED and are very bright and with four AA batteries last a long time because of the low power usage. If you don't want the hassle of running wires all over your boat these are the ticket, and they can be removed in few seconds for safekeeping. 'Bonza lights mate'"
