"Used 18Led dome light to replace my existing 15 cadle power incadescent light to save power. Was extremly dissapointed with light output of this dome light. Cant see well unless directly under light. I have no where else to mount second light and adding more defeats purpose of power savings anyway. Light design is such that it does not flood the area with light. My cabin measures 6 feet by 8 feet. I ended up reinstalling my old light and I will deal with power consumption. There may be a reason these lights are not rated in CP output."

"I bought a selection of these lights as a part of a total rebuild of my pontoon boat, as I wanted to create a safe and very low level of night lighting for passengers and or fishing.
Basically, these lights need to be installed so that they create an indirect lighting source, as they are way too bright to shine where they'll hit you in the eye.
My solution was to mount the 8 light units behind a 5" square plastic louver. To do this, I cut a hole the proper size for the light in the vertical base of my seats (about 6" off the floor), but mounted the light from the inside of the seat base and then mounted the louver on the oustside of the seat base.
I mounted my strip light inside of one of the seat compartments, so that I can see and find things in there at night. I'll probably mount the single LED inside my console.
All of my LED lights are managed by a single panel switch"

"2 of the 5 lights I ordered were red instead of white. I wasn't asked when I ordered so I didn't specify a color and didn't notice they were different until I had them installed and turned them on. I wish they would have asked or shown on the website that they came in different light colors."

"I ordered 4 (12 l.e.d. light strips) for my 17' fishing boat. They installed rather easy. After powering them on, one(1) of the strips only had nine (9) lights working. I checked all the connections and everything was installed correctly. I contacted Cabelas and told them what was wrong. They stated they were sorry for the inconvience and would ship another one out as soon as possible. I re-installed the new strip and it worked perfect. It should be noted that the wires that come with the strip are about an 18 gauge wire. So if you install them on your boat and run a heavier gauge wire you will need to fold over the strip wire or use smaller connectors. I mounted these lights under the gunwall so they project the light toward the floor of the boat. At night the lights light up the floor as well as the interior sides of the boat. The illumination is very good and the lights do not mess-up your night vision. My fishing buddies refer to the lights as "mood lighting". If you are thinking about lights for your boat, buy these and you will be happy you did!"

"comoact, waterproof, easy to install and LOW CURRENT DRAW. I mounted under dash to cast lite toward floor of cockpit. Nice amount of light for looking for items stored beneath drivers console. It is what I expected, a good low draw hi output functional light. It come with a two wire pigtail. I spliced mine across the leads of a switched courtesy lite."

"Purchased one as a trial to replace many power consuming incandesent 12 volt bulbs. Does a good job but you may want to consider using two of these (18 LED) lights to account for the light output of one conventional fixture. You will be completely satisfied with this product. Primarily at night. It illuminates very well and will bring out the true colors of any enviorment, interior or exterior."
