"So far so good...Put on Lowe fs 165 on rear hatch on battery compartment. Bought to keep batteries safe. Key and lock are pretty Generic, however, it keeps it locked and gives me peace of mind. If someone REALLY wants my batteries I feel they can easy break through but who's to say they wouldn't anyways. For the average thief I feel this product will work and keep my batteries safe while camping or during storage. Extremely easy to put in, though my holes were pre-cut and was just replacing a non-locked hatch with a locked hatch.
In a nut shell: Perfect latch if you'd like to have peace of mind for your investments, however, product is not bullet proof and good thief could break into...."

"They seem ok, we'll see how they are after a couple seasons of use. Install was easy, all hardware needed was included. The only problem I have is, I ordered two and they were not quite identical. One was slightly different that the other, hardly noticeable, but I noticed it."

"I needed to replace a couple of latches on my Bassboat. Well I should have spent even more money to get the Perko latches. These feel too small and they are not comfortable. The lock in the T handle is a "sharp" lump that is not friendly to cold wet hands. They are all too expensive too!"

"The latch itself I think will work great. The directions on the other hand...Not so good. It says on the package requires 2 3/8'' Hole. After several measurements I went with my own way and it fit nice and snug and worked like a dream... I used a 2'' Hydraulic Knockout, and it was perfect. Nice clean cut hole, and not to much cleanup...Just make sure you use the best tool that you can get in your hands, and check to make sure that it will be a snug fit...I think a 2 3/8'' Hole would be to sloppy!"

"In the picture it appears as though this is metal.In fact it is plastic. I had to purchase a replacement after two years and the boat was in the water (6) times. There is a split pin that runs through the handle. When I twised the handle to openn the hatch, the handle on one broke. For the price, I thought that was rediculous. I replaced all my hatchs with the keyed or not keyed latch type. I also installed Cabea's aluminum hatches (very good product), but each of the latches had to be modified in such a way to make them fit. This mod was to cut away part of the bottom holding ring or expanding the hole on the latches. After intence work, I got them all in and they looked good and functional. The locking latchs all use the same key. If someone knows that, they can use their key to access your hatches.
I sold the boat!"

"I recently replaced the non-lockable hatch latches on my bassboat with the T-H locking Hatch Latches. They were easy to switch out. It took less than 10 minutes per latch and they give an improved look to the boat. They are easy to operate and give me peace of mind when I am forced to park my boat where I cannot keep an eye on it. With the price of today's fishing equipment, I consider the T-H locking Hatch Latches as insurance against theft, and would recommend them to anyone."
