Bolts too short,March 20, 2009
By zed75from Clemson,SC
"Like many of the reviewers on here, I think the bolts are too short for use with many of today's trolling motors. I tried mounting my Minnkota Maxxum and the bolts were about 2" too short. In the end, I went to the hardware store and bought (6) stainless steel bolts, removed the small control/outlet panel at the front of my boat and was able to reach under the deck that way.
Bottom line - If you have a low thrust motor and THIN mount, this may work for you. Otherwise - steer clear."

OK - if bolts were longer would be perfect.,August 27, 2007
By jt07
"These do what they are designed to do very well. It would be nice if the bolts that screw in to the insulators were about an inch longer just to make them easier to start. If your mount is very thick, you have to screw them all the way in with a screwdriver to suck the rubber up against the underside, then back them all the way out, mount the trolling motor and reinstall the screws. The double work could be avoided if the bolts were longer. These work well for mounting other boat accessories when you really need a bolt instead of a screw but can't get to the other side to put a nut on."

Bolts too short,March 25, 2007
By Stalmo1from Charleston, SC
"I like this mounting system it secures the troller motor better than anything I have tried before, but the mounting bolts included were too short. At least they were for my Minn kota Riptide. I went to the local boat store and bought 6 longer ones, no problem other than the fact they were $2.99 a piece! I would give it a 5 if the bolts were longer."

Good Stuff,November 20, 2006
By trigger9from Sacramento Ca.
"I recently purchased a new Minn Kota trolling motor since mine died on me. I wasn't able to get under the deck to get a socket on the nuts, so I had to drill out the mounting screws. So then I was left with the problem of how to mount the new motor. I tried using moly bolts, but I couldn't get them tight enough without them snapping. So I turned to Cabela's! These isolator bolts are great. The rubber pad is really nice and helps dampen vibrations. I have been using them for about 3 months now. I thought I should go back and snug them up, but sure enough, tight as they were on day 1!"

Great Bolts!,November 20, 2006
By cb1830from Western Massachusetts.
"These isolator bolts worked great! Easiest way to mount a trolling motor on deck ever! Tried to mount my trolling motor to the front deck, but I couldn't get underneath to put nuts on, so I used lag bolts. The motor tore the bolts right out! Then I bolted it to the rear deck{after much fuss} and was unhappy with the handling. Then found these bolts and easily mounted the motor back on the front deck and they worked GREAT! Took the motor off for the winter just as easily. Teriffic product. Real easy to install too. Thanks, Chuck."
