Insulated GORE-TEX® Leather Shooting Glove,
November 19, 2009
By JBonham

"The fit, feel and dexterity of these gloves is satisfactory for my needs. They are not heavy enough for extreme cold but excellent for gun handling. I wouldn't want much more bulk than this. I hate to wear bulky gloves due to loss of trigger feel. With these gloves I still can "feel" the trigger. When the weather turns bad my hands are protected; keeping them dry is half the battle so the gortex is greatly appreciated and the low fleece lining wicks moisture away from your skin. My only suggestion that would rate these a five star instead of four would be to add a gusset to the closure area to provide waterproof coverage the full length of the glove. As this area flaps over to secure with velcro it does allow for tightening the fit to suit your prefference but, it also allows water to enter into the back of the glove in the wrist area. This is partly because they flap from bottom to top which in a normal hand position allows the water to channel in instead of draining over and off. This forces me to be constantly aware of my hand position and ensure that my coat sleeves are over the wrist area to the back of my hand in rainy weather. Keeping water out was why I wanted gortex so I was a little suprised by this considering the cost of the glove. But, for use on a cold damp day while going through fields and brush bird hunting they are nice."

not durable,
November 19, 2009
By Jeffham

"I had these on about 10 minutes, picked up a pheasant and noticed a hole in the outer layer. They are not durable enough for me and hunting. A couple of days later I had to put them back on because we were hunting in the rain. My hands stayed warm and dry. I took them back. I wish they were made of a tougher leather with a gortex liner. If you are only using them for shooting, they are great gloves. Don't expect them to last long in the field however."

Leather Shooting Gloves,

By Alfross1

"These gloves are exactly what I've been seaching weeks for. They're a perfect fit, light weight and good for any season. Except for the absence of pain when using a revolver at the range, I forget I'm wearing gloves. These are perfect for any type of firearm at the range or while hunting.

Gore-tex insulated gloves,
February 10, 2009
By DukeJ
|
"My hands get cold real easy and few years ago I bought the Pittard's gloves for when I had security patrols outside. I was out for 9hrs. in low 40's, high winds and hard rain. I was soaked and cold but these gloves kept my hands warm enough to shoot if I had to. Unfortunately, they grew feet and walked off. Recently, now that I'm back outside in the winter months I bought the same gloves. No water (except the line above) No wind, warm hands. I've bought this glove twice because of how good they are and I use them as regular winter gloves for almost all things I do outside, not just work or shooting."

Don't waste your money,

"Would have given it zero stars if possible. I returned these. My husband wore them outside for 10 minutes and came back in with ice cold hands and said he'd rather wear no gloves at all. I tried them out the next day and I only lasted about the same amount of time the gloves held the cold like a freezer! I too felt better with no gloves at all."

Warm and Water Proof,
January 29, 2008
By TheSavageRabbit2
from LA, CA

"These are the warmest gloves I've worn that still allowed me to work with my hands. They are comfortable, quiet (while worn), and water proof. The only downside is that they are, in my opinion, too thick for confident rifle or pistol hunting. In the alternative, you should practice shooting with these gloves before attempting a shot on game. The gloves have too much insulation for fine trigger control without practice. They'd be perfect for cold weather bird hunts. I use them for hunting and camping in cold weather. However, I haven't worn them in the field yet so I haven't faced the problem of trying to remove a glove to shoot (they gloves have Velcro on them, not exactly a silent material)."
