Pittards Uninsulated Leather Shooting Gloves,
September 10, 2009
By ESS1
from Ohio
|
"This is the second pair of Cabelas Premier Pittards Leather uninsulated shooting gloves I have received. The seams on the knuckles of both gloves disintegrated after 4 rounds of skeet shooting. No problem, I returned them to Cabelas for an even exchange. I received the second pair and the seams at the knuckle on the left hand glove began to fall apart during my first round of skeet. I will not incurr the cost to return for a third pair. There is obviously something wrong with the design, workmanship, or materials used in the manufacture of these gloves. This is the second Cabela's brand product that has fallen apart with very little use."

Great gloves for trap shooting,
August 12, 2009
By vailmtnman

"I like shooting trap with gloves, both summer and winter. These gloves are form fitting and have good grip on the gun. I have long thin fingers and the medium fit very well. The thin leather makes for good trigger feel. The quality is much better than the gloves I have tried."

Recommended Shooting Glove,
June 30, 2009
By NDL4
from New York, NY
|
"After looking at many shooting gloves - in all price ranges - I decided to give these a try because they: are well made, sized true, fit accurately, are unlined, provide for a good tactile sense and are of a neutral color. I have not been disappointed and highly recommend them for their positive grip, comfort with a natural feeling trigger finger. An additional star would have been awarded for a touch of padding in the web area. Further, as a shooting glove they should be marketed as singles with the option of just buying the right, left or both. If you're looking for target shooting gloves you will not go wrong - get a pair and enjoy them!"

Look good, feel good, don't last,

"Critical seam fails on second day of shooting: forefinger @ palm seam. Seam fell apart and "ran" the second day I used them. I want to send the pair back as I believe the materials or workmanship was faulty. Too bad,as I liked the looks and feel of the gloves."

Not so good for Argentina,
March 15, 2009
By texasdean
from Texas
|
"Used the gloves for a dove hunting trip to Argentina. Fit and comfort of these gloves are fantastic. However, the thumb is not designed for volume of shooting we did. I wore a hole in the thumb after feeding roughly 1200 shells into the magazine. That's only 48 rounds of skeet, which is not much of a lifespan. The rest of the glove held up just fine though.
If the thumb were a little beefier, I would recommend these gloves in a heartbeat. Maybe I just got a pair with thin leather, but I am not so sure about that."

Cabela's Uninsulated Leather Shooting Gloves,
November 18, 2008
By MD456

"I recently purchased these gloves for rabbit hunting. They are the first pair of gloves I have ever used in the field for shooting and chose them for their fit. I opted for a smaller size to get a snugger fit and they fit just as i wanted. While they have plenty of "trigger feel" one glove has already started coming apart around the velcro closure. I will have to do some repair work on my own if i intend to keep them. Perhaps in the future the seams could be triple stitched or some variation thereof to prevent them from coming apart. Overall they are very comfortable and have served the purpose for which I purchased them. They aren't the greatest at shedding briars but are certainly better than nothing at all. Overall they are a decent pair of gloves and I will continue to use them until I find something more durable with the same amount of sensitivity."

Good gloves for the price,
November 18, 2008
By F150Man

"I used a pair of these Premier Pittards gloves on a 2008 pheasant hunt in So. Dakota and Kansas, and was complete satisfied. Wearing these gloves in the early morning with 20 degree temps or while walking across several quarters of CRP and high dry weeds, really protects your hands. They fit and feel comfortable, although, after reading other reviews I bought a larger size then normal and was happy. The glove allowed for easy trigger feel while providing warmth and protection. A real good investment that’ll last for years. Glad I bought them!"

good gloves but...,
October 24, 2008
By Jack39
from Central OH
|
"I ordered these gloves in brown after using a pair of black ones for years. The first pair of brown gloves had such a small wrist, or short closing tab, that it was difficult to get the tab to stay closed. The second pair is a little better, but the wrist/closure tab is still a little small. Other than that, these gloves are great. They protect your hands from briars and the gun from sweaty hands. Other gloves fade onto your hands if they get wet, but these do not. Only rated 4 stars because of wrist closure problem."

Not textile enough for competition use,
September 20, 2008
By Arctichighlander
from Alaska
|
"Fit was okay but not as tactile as my ventilated Bob Allen shooting gloves which I use for CAS at 20 below and colder when the bare metal immediately burns skin. Probably fine for hunting if they hold up. But my Mechanic Wears work gloves are both sturdier and have better sensitivity than these and would be better for hunting (they are not quite as sensitive as the ventilated Bob Allen ones but the Bob Allen ones would not hold up well in heavy brush). No glove that provides great sensitivity is going to provide warmth in cold weather. Or be very durable in field conditions. But the Bob Allen ones will prevent frostbite long enough to get through a stage without damage to your fingers."
